REVIEW: @sigiriyahale a Sri Lankan restaurant in Hale, Manchester. I want to be as happy as @andy_zhou9 opening his banana leaf rice all the time 😁. A cheeky post-gym, pre-golf early dinner.
Starters we got a mixed grill (sadly no pic) where ngl those lamb chops were pretty up there 🐑👌 done really well with great marinade penetration, cooked really tender with huge smokey notes. I was impressed. For mains I ordered a lamb on the bone (as you should do) coconut curry with lamprais (chicken and lamb curry, egg, sambol and aubergine wrapped in a banana leaf) 🐔🐑🥚🍆🍌🍃 Food was definitely really really tasty and the vibe and decor was really nice (nice neighbourhood innit). But I did feel I was paying for the vibe and location on top of the food though which is a shame, especially since my proverbial socks were still on my feet as while executed very well I didn't feel they were doing anything original enough. I haven't been to other places in the area so can't comment too much on how reasonable it is by comparison. I was gonna give it a 7.5/10 but remembering how good the lamb chop and lamprais was ill bump it to 8/10. Thanks @andy_zhou9 for the recommendation in your ends 😘
