Bahraini Breakfast for the Win!
You know you might not be able to eat Pizza every day without getting tired of it. It's true. I had read an article where a woman had challenged herself to do exactly this for a week and eventually got tired of it. Variety and moderation is key. But you know what you can have and not tire of it? The Bahraini Breakfast. Because it's like ghar ka khana. (Home made food)
#Kwargrills ranks no. 1 for in my Bahraini Breakfast List. I was introduced to it the previous year by a friend who had said it's a hole in the wall place, but you would be blown over. A little skeptical I stepped in. But Blown over I was. For the next year, it became the object of my obsession and affection. 😍
Our Go to order here is the Chicken Nashef, tikka fry, eggs with cheese and some karak. Theirs is the gold standard of Nashef to me. The flavors so subtle. The other thing that appeals to me about most Bahraini dishes is that they don't make use of cream or other flavor enhancers which makes the dish heavy per-se, which is very common at least in Indian Restaurants. So you cannot even if you want to have a butter chicken on a regular basis. These dishes are reserved for special occasions but the likes of Nashef can be an every day dish. The same is true for the tikka fry. They take their mutton tikka, add some spices (vinegar-ish) and toss it in the pan. It reminds me of how sometimes my mom takes the left over chicken and roasts them over the pan the next day. And voila! whole new dish! The egg and cheese is another specialty, strongly resembling scrambled eggs with generous cheese and another favorite. Though it is more a weekend dish than a regular one.
Their karak is one of those that I have never less than 2 cups of! But that'a s staple for me.
Did I mention that you pay hardly 3 BHD for all of this. Supremely pocket friendly.
Thoughts over a strong #karakchai from @treejcafe ...... #dubaiculture#dubaitea .
Tell me what was the best advice you got from your friend, something which you pondered over ???
Well today a good friend of mine advised me - “Not to take unwanted responsibilities in life and not to give people unwanted image of self , your what you are and deal with it”
... this was an eye opener seriously , sometimes we need to learn and practice to say Noo also and realize we cannot fix everything.....

“ For all the chai lovers , here’s one flavor you should to try if you haven’t as yet.Chai in a cake ..,yeah why not! Karak Chai has taken the chai culture in the Middle East to another level. The strong tea brewed tea with spices ginger, cardamom and cinnamon has found its place in desserts. The flavor isn’t too overpowering, only mildly chai paired with vanilla.
There was a deluge of whacky guesses for the flavor of this cake..Very few thoughts drifted towards the Chai Latte Flavor.. well here’s some chai cake for thought..
