*Warning Spoilers*. With all the anticipation towards Godzilla King of the Monsters this week, I feel like everyone forgot about the release of the 2nd Anime Godzilla movie this week. So this is my review of Godzilla City on the Edge of Battle with some spoilers so if you haven't seen the movie yet do not read beyond this point, you've been warned! Now I'm not surprised that it's not that talked about. Its received not that many great reviews and mostly because MechaGodzilla isn't technically in it. Which is a shame to be honest. Also Godzilla's screen time is shorter than Planet of the Monsters. Now don't get me wrong the action scenes are still amazing especially with the addition to the new Vulture mechs. I'm not going to go into full detail on the plot but basically the earth wasn't the only thing that has changed throughout the 20,000 years that have passed but MechaGodzilla itself has as well. Behold Mechagodzilla City, which was created by nanometal which was used to create MechaG. Well it sounds cool, despite the actual appearance of MechaGodzilla. We also learn that the Hotua people live on Earth, even after the mass destruction and terraforming it has gone throughout the years. Now I quite enjoyed the movie I wouldn't say it's on my Top list of favorite Godzilla movies, but it was unique though. It's the 3rd installment that I'm waiting for, and if you watch the end credits scene you'll know why, but mostly every Godzilla fan knows the arrival of The Destroyer of worlds is near and that name is King Ghidorah! Overall I give the movie 6/10 would I watch it again, yes I would, but not anytime soon though so give it a chance.
