Here at Awakening, we care about sexual health as much as we do about pleasure. That includes access to safe and legal abortions. Colorado is one of these "trigger law" states, which is absolutely terrifying. It's been a tough news week, so practice some extra self care this weekend to emotionally prepare to tackle this nonsense. Stay angry, stay woke, get loud 💪🏼 We can do this together! XOXO, Tory. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Repost @ladyelectricco: The Supreme Court just lost a crucial defender of Roe v Wade, Anthony Kennedy. Only 17 states have laws that protect abortion. If the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, abortion would immediately be illegal in 33 states because of what is known as a "trigger law." Start taking action via your local government! If your state does not have laws that protect the right to an abortion start fighting for them now!!!

The artist is @righthandedleftyartist this cartoon is referring to the incident where the police was called by a Starbucks employee or employees when they felt threatened by two black men simply sitting at a table waiting for their third friend to arrive for a business meeting, instead of handling the situation like fucking human beings and just leaving them alone, the Starbucks employee or employees decided to call the police and have these two men escorted out of the Starbucks in a humiliating show of systematic cultural and police racism that is pervasive in our country. I used to sit at coffee shops without ordering all the time and never had issues.
Now that its out the way let's talk,Emotional depression. I see it a lot looked at but never truly talked about until someone is over the edge or near killing themselves or too late so this is just a deeper look into my mind and thoughts of a mental state,I've always believed in logic before most things as weird as it sounds since I was raised in a very religious household it always bothered me when I woke up with no reason to or stayed up at night asking for purpose my father and Mother weren't supportive my friends didn't understand they just told me to get over it but a huge key point is. You can't get over it I don't know how many times I've seen people image link depression to chains and its accurate its scary to have to drive to shower or to eat or to anything besides be sad so going though school I was reckless worried sad and neglectful It pushed me deeper into my sadness but logical I had no reason to be sad and that made me angry, but I'll cut it short for now its 5:46am and I wanted to shine some light on the beginnings of Depression.~James💎

Check out her event on April 7th, 7:30pm in Pasadena, CA @sistersupportorg If you know a woman working in Hollywood please share! More info below! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• "I've recently started the Center for Women in Hollywood @cfwih a place for women and like minded men to gather and create.
One of our programs is the Women in Hollywood Circle. This is a private evening for women of conversation, connection, healing, and real talk. We will explore how the "status of women in Hollywood" actually affects us as people, as women, as members of different ethnic groups and identities.
When women gather in a circle, we change the world.
Remember to talk back to your screens, we are more than we see.
Hope to see you there!!"

Go ahead cis white men, send me all your "your march was controlled opposition" and your "what's so difficult about your life?" and your "Feminism=humanism" and your "why do you hate men so much" comments, articles, videos and memes.
I. Don't. Give. A. Fuck.
There is ignorance everywhere. There is ignorance in protests. I have my own ignorance. But what I don't have is some naive belief that a bunch of women marching together is gonna change anything-
What I do believe in. Fully. Is that our march has started to open a closed wall that has divided Women for centuries. Women who have been disenfranchised dues to racist, bigoted, xenophobic, ageist, and ableist bullshit.
It has inspired and created a conversation- a painful, terrible, scary but much needed conversation and awareness that my prior lack of action and my dangerous assumption that we are united is the deepest issue ripping apart Feminism from its core-I too am responsible for White Sexism.
That's how change is made. It starts with the individual and then spreads. It's how we raise our children to see strength, intellect, respect, and love over appearance. Change involves not only editing the standards of beauty but in changing our perceptions and ideals about gender.
I knew. But I never did anything. That has changed. I'm neck deep in guilt, awareness and acceptance and trying to dig my way out of a white patriarchy society that not only had me trapped but also simultaneously kicking my Sisters down deeper into that hole.
I don't know how to fix Feminism. I don't know how to start a conversation with my Sisters. I don't know how to talk about race when my subconscious is filled with shameful automatic biases as old as the Bible. I don't know how to approach this topic- I'm scared of the guilt. I'm scared of the well deserved anger. I'm scared and I need help in making this change. I don't know how. But I'm trying and I'm learning.
we've got mountains to move and rivers to swim...and yes- we'll march. So don't fuck with us. #intersectionalfeminism#feminism#feminist#intersectionality#intersectionalwomanist#educateyourself#activism
