👋 this is my clan! ♥️#familyphotography
One of my values is family. We like hanging out together and love to laugh. If you’ve seen earlier posts, you know we also are competitive at board games.
The value of family looks like this to me. . . Providing support (resources, time, money),balance, making time to play and have fun, believing in each others’ hopes and potential.
Your idea of family as a value may look completely different! Maybe you want to travel and show them the world, or cook together at night. The way we view our values is based on our operating philosophy.
Your philosophy is rooted in your religion or ethical view of life, and translates into how you operate.
Discover more about your values and operating philosophy by making a quick list of the top 3 values you hold.
Now, think about each value a bit more, asking 2 questions: How do I define this value more clearly? Why is it important to me?
This is a great way to discover how you operate and make decisions, which is really important when you build an intentional change plan.
Why have a dream?
Intentional change begins with your ideal self: an image of a desired future, fueled by hope, grounded in your core identity. It’s a combination of your dreams, your calling, your values and how you operate.
When you experience a wake-up call, your deeper dreams are asking for attention. After years of feeling all the expectations, often becoming others’ version of your ideal self, you feel frustrated from all the time spent on things you weren’t really passionate about. You feel like something’s missing, with no idea how you got here and what you really want. Sometimes, you’ve grown and changed, and realize your desires have changed, too.
While it may feel confusing and frustrating now, this crossroads place is often the fertile ground for a fresh start to authentic and inspired living.
A good starting place is to carve out some time to free write, or process out loud with someone you trust:
Think about where you would be reading this if it were 10-15 years from now and you were living your ideal life. What kinds of people would be around you? What does your environment look like? What does a typical day or week in your life look like? *Don’t worry about feasibility. Let the vision come to life, and see yourself there. You’ll get your positive emotions flowing, and you’ll feel the potential for real change.

The first step to personal growth is to become aware of your own bull shit, and to no longer accept that bull shit from yourself.
It takes mindful, intentional decisions to reach those goals, and one day at a time I’m making more and more of those decisions. Autopilot off ✖️✖️
If there’s one thing I love talking about. . . It’s hope. Ok, there’s a lot of things I love talking about😬. Hope, though. It’s the driver behind all intentional change.
Having hope and an inspired image of the future keeps you going. It’s the thing that you build on-it’s how you’re able to create, establish new routines, make a change you’ve been longing to make. It’s what keeps you going when it seems like things aren’t going right. It’s what pulls you out of the dark & back into the light.
When you’ve opened yourself up to time, space, and the willingness to receive, hope can make a grand entrance-you can dream again and get excited about possibility.
“Hope acts as a magnet. An attractor . . . Hope has a positive impact on our brains and hormones. It effects our perceptions of the events around us . . . As a positive emotional attractor, then, hope allows you to consider your strengths, your dreams, your vision for the future. . . . “ taken from Resonant Leadership.
Hope brings mental calm, clarity, optimism . . . You’re up for the challenges ahead.
Your dreams matter. Hope matters. It’s a catalyst for change, but also a way to diffuse anxiety and fear.
If you want sustainable, desired change, cultivate hope.
When I work from home I eat a lot! I love chocolate and spend most of my time thinking about it! So today, after a long call yesterday where we ended up talking about nutrition, I made myself the following:
Roasted plums with Agave syrup, raspberries, goji berries, Brazil nuts and vanilla coconut milk yogurt. Surprisingly yummy and pretty healthy too 💜
Lazy days....I get up and look after my neighbours cat by getting her breakfast and refreshing her water. Sometimes this is more than I do for myself! But it’s ok to have an off day, a day that isn’t that productive, a day when I feel more cat-like (lots of naps!)! I wrote a new blog post about this. Today I will be kind to myself, I will only do as much as I can do. 💜 #selfcare#intentionalliving#intentionalchange#keepitsimple#selflove#kindness
Some days you soak it in and listen intently to the things you need to hear. The last couple days I’ve been doing that as I work around the house, drive errands, make that phone call, take stock of where I am, spend time with someone in conversation.
I’m reminded how I need to love well this week.
I believe we are all constantly in the the process of restoring and rebuilding, learning and unlearning.
We’re growing in faith together even when it feels like we’re separate. I’ve been challenged this past year and had days where it didn’t feel like things were making sense. And I know it seems there have been so many things around us that haven’t made sense. Seeing places of freedom and places of struggle.
And I’ve had days where I’ve returned again to gratitude.
I’ve had to return to the question “how am I giving life today?” It’s how I long to live with intention.
I’ve created 2 free resources for you to cultivate your own desire to live with intention as the holiday season approaches.
I’d love you join me this week in a challenge to embrace grace and intentional living. >>Link in bio to download<<

Learning more everyday that being intentional is way under rated as a key life skill. Whether it's in personal development, healthy relationships or growing a skill, they don't happen without being intentional. .
So today I'm intentionally learning about Instagram. .
What change do you need to be intentional about?
Intention and action.
When our actions are closely integrated with our intentions, we lead a more powerful life.
Some of us are not fully aware of our actions and it’s implications. We can live life oblivious to our actions and the potential impact it has on many lives including our own because of the lack of thought that accompanies our actions. There is power in your actions my friend. One powerful thought converted into a positive action can be life changing. One random act of kindness today can be a lifesaver for someone.
Intention and action.
Be intentional in your pursuit of the change you want to see in the world. Align your actions to the change you want to see.
It first begins with you. Being open to change is the first step to growth.
Intention to grow.
Be intentional in pursuing peace and love, in serving and looking out for the people in your world. Let your actions be a reflection of your soul.
Be intentional in looking beyond your own circumstances and choosing to be conscious of someone else’s needs and walking purposefully in that direction. Let your actions reflect your unselfish thoughts.
Intention to serve.
Be intentional in standing up and speaking out for the truth. Seek to be the light in the midst of darkness. Let there be no fear as you take a stand. Let your actions be the light.
Intention to be bold.
You can only move forward when you step out with the right intent. Be intentional towards growth. Be intentional to practice gratitude.
Let your actions speak your thoughts. Be intentional with your actions today! #equipenableempower#beintentional#intentionandaction#intentionalgrowth#intentionalchange#intent#actionspeaks
"You get out of life what you are willing to put up with!" One of the best quotes I've heard in quite a while. There comes a time, in trying to better your life, when you MUST remove or distance yourself from certain people, places, or things. You can not get well if you keep drinking from a dirty cup! What you tolerate is what you will continue to experience. Today, set an intention and ask for the way to leave unhealthy situations and people. You do not have to remain where love is no longer being served. Do yourself a favor and liberate yourself from Hell!

Keep pushing yourself to go higher! Stop worrying about what others are doing! Stop waiting for recognition from those who will NEVER give it to you! Your Tribe should be your biggest fans! They should want to see you succeed, if not...they are NOT your tribe! Today, stop worrying about what others think! They are scared of where you are going, because they don't have the guts to do what YOU are doing! Listen, we may have started out small, but we don't have to stay there! Dream YOUR dreams, go after them, make them happen! Shock the shit out of people and create the life that YOU want! Sometimes we must leave behind our comfort zones and the people who reside there. Make the end of 2018 the biggest plot twist yet!! What the hell! Shock the shit out of yourself!! 💜

Do you desire a change in the situations of your marriage or relationship?
What have you done about it?
You can't afford to sit back, relax and just chill around and expect your relationship to get better.
You've got to get up and fix things.
Initiate the changes you desire to see.
Relationship don't change itself. People change them and make them better.
A free day out in London! This is right outside the Tate Modern where I walked around the free exhibitions for a couple of hours. Peace, calm, creating space to dream. Keep up the practice of finding these quiet moments when you truly hear yourself think. Listen to your inner voice, you know what your dreams are and what you’re prepared to do to make them come true. Have a dreamy weekend 💜 #artistsdate#freelondon#dreambig#intentionalliving#intentionalchange#reachforthestars#babysteps
Don't lose faith! What you are looking for or dreaming of is coming! Don't quit before the miracle arrives! With all of the retrograde action of this year, things have slowed way down. We have been in a constant "do-over" pattern it seems with one test after another, but keep going! 2 months of retrograde cycles left. We are still dealing with Venus until Nov. 16, also on that day, Mercury begins its retrograde (again) until Dec. 9. Let us hope that 2019 is the beginning of forward movement into positive outcomes for us all. With the aspects, we have been under, it is no surprise that our country is moving backward unfortunately and crazy Trump is reversing everything Obama related, regardless if it is good for our nation or not. So, keep sowing seeds and dreaming your dreams. After all, goal planning and Treasure Board making are perfect assignments as we close out this year, and look to 2019 as our year of manifesting our hearts desires. ❤
When I don't spend time meditating each day, my mind gets unruly. 🧠 It took a while to get into the habit of making time for meditation. 🧘🏻♀️ At first it felt like a chore and I thought I was bad at it. 🚫 I kept showing up and learning about it until it eventually it became part of my routine that I couldn't go without. 💛 It's a way to connect and find clarity when life feels chaotic. 🔹What's your biggest obstacle to a consistent meditation practice? 🔹
Yes, this quote will do for today. 🙏🏼

First day in my new clinic space, after 8 years of being in the cute little well-loved building in Yarra Glen. My heart is open and it feels really really special!
No more playing small. No more living only in the comfort zone. Expansion beyond the known is calling! #shit#staybraveblondie#yougotthis ☀️ Mwah! 💋 ox
We are NOT great again! We are worse!! It is hard to find love, peace, and unity in times like these, but we have to keep pursuing them. We can and must do better than this. The song, Jesus Loves The Little Children was about inclusion, not separation. The song teaches us about loving everyone because He does. Everyone! Everyone across our city, our state, our country, our world. We are or should be taught to love everyone, regardless of differences. Fear is what keeps this division of coming together from happening. So, where do we start? We start with ourselves, removing hatred, fear, and separation from our hearts. We work on our thoughts and beliefs that people are bad, untrustful, and unkind. We erase the images and teachings taught to us that certain people should be hated or treated badly. We start right where we are...with US! We must keep on forgiving, being willing to find 'the good' in our world, even in our own backyard. If unity is to happen, WE must be it. If peace is what we want, WE must give it. If love is what we wish to see, have, give, or receive...WE must be 'the love' that we want to see. Today, make the intention to love thy neighbor. EVERYONE! To spread hope, joy, and brotherhood wherever you are! BE kind. BE accepting. BE tolerant. BE unity. BE peace. BE what you wish to receive. Like John Lennon's messages stated: "Give peace a chance!" 💜
We are moving through a time when it is easy to become jaded. A time of pissocity and testing like never before. On some level it seems, everyone is under attack in one form or another. It is easy to retaliate and want to lash out in anger and in revenge. What we fail to realize is OUR karma is at stake. Like a Boom-a-rang, what we put out will always find its way back to us. So keep in mind, if you want more good to show up in your life, put more good thoughts and energies out into your world. I am not saying, not to take action, that is your decision, but consider karma that may be returned to you. Is it worth it?
Keep your thoughts governed and in check. Are your thoughts loving or fearful? Do you believe in good things happening, or have you lost perception of good available to you? We all say we want a good life, are you creating it? Do you even know what your "good" life looks like? If you do...do you sabotage it by sending out canceling thoughts and beliefs that you can never have what you desire? Most people don't get what they want, because they don't believe they deserve them or can have them. This thinking cancels out our 'good' from coming to us. Today, start by telling yourself that YOU deserve the very best! Set an intention to keep on keeping on and to sow seeds of love, goodness, and kindness wherever you go. Believe and send out messages to the universe that you still believe in the goodness of people and believe there is still good happening in our world. It may be a challenge, but saving yourself begins with YOU and what you project and believe. 💙

This is a piece of a puzzle God has given as part of my blueprint. There’s so much happening in my life and I’m just amazed. The little lost and insecure girl from El Barrio has come a long way. Understanding generational poverty. Understanding working broken systems. Understanding politics. Undertaking it all one conversation at a time. This passion to change lives is deeper than ever. I’m just building up my resource kit to make intentional, generational and systematic changes! #sheisnotasleep#slowandsteady#intentionalchange#Kairos#lovechildren#familymatters
Diverse Global Leaders Are Our Present and Our Future
There are some students who just know that studying abroad or traveling the world is “for them.” Some even label it their “passion.” These are often students who are afforded the opportunities to travel around the US, and sometimes the world. Who had passports before they turned 18 and were exposed to different cultures, languages and regions of the world. Well, that was not the case for me. Nor is it the case for many who look like me. My travels literally took me between the city of Kalamazoo, MI and Portage,MI; which is about a twenty minute drive from our house to our grandma’s. I can count on my hands the amount of times that I traveled somewhere more than an hour or two away from my home base before my experience abroad.
Nonetheless, I boarded a plane to Quito, Ecuador; not knowing if I would even survive a plane ride. Was I going to cry? How about faint? Maybe throw-up everywhere? I have been known to not do well on rollercoasters. How do I get through the airport? What is security? How many bags can I take? Is this too much? Wait, I should take a gift for my host family, but why?
All of these things crossed my mind a thousand times. I was never going to back out the trip to Ecuador because it was required and my scholarship would pay for it, but I did feel alone throughout the process.
Then I befriended two other Black girls who also applied to go to Ecuador, and one Black alumna of the program returning to teach and volunteer at the same time. These ladies were my rock. To this day I feel as though if I had not had such a positive support group my first time around I would have not survived the isolation that I felt in Argentina or the extreme push out of my comfort zone in Brazil.
This is the privilege that students who experience travel before they study abroad in college get: the familiarity of dealing with the unknown in a supportive environment.
Colorful Stories Abroad was created to inspire more students of color to pursue new heights abroad. Whether this be through working, living or learning abroad, WE DO go abroad. -@theworldandt
Another day, another trip! Location free living and working is fun but it takes so much effort to sustain. It’s simple but not easy. However, right now it’s valuable to me and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to build my life the best way that serves me. I used to look at other people and think they ‘had it all’ or ‘they’re doing better than me’ but nothing is ever as it seems as the observer. It’s only when I realised what was valuable to me that I started planning the moves to get me closer to those goals.
It’s tempting to think of negative emotions as motivating. It’s true that sometimes, they are the kickstart that makes us realize how much we care about a certain issue. But once you make the choice to engage and try to bring about change, clinging to them will only inhibit your progress. You’ll end up more focused on what you have to say than what is actually happening or being said around you. You stop being present, and you get stuck treading in water with no hope for a current.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t speak out on topics that matter to you. In fact, you must. But your voice should be part of a conversation. We have to develop the ability to talk to each other about difficult topics or we will never be able to move forward. Insults never produce results. They create and sustain negative emotions that do nothing but reiterate themselves into stagnation. .
What does the world you hope to create look like? As you envision and embody it, you will also be creating it, one breath at a time.

"Every day will not be good but there is something good in every day." A dear friend has helped to show me the importance of this meaning. Some days it is more of a challenge to find 'good' in everyday life but...it is there. Usually, to me, it is located in the things taken most for granted. Like being alive, good health, a roof over our head, food to eat, a place to sleep, A/C, Heat, a job, family, friends, a pet that greets us after a shitty day, etc. Yes, some days will not be good but we must practice finding the good in some days. Make today a 'good' day. 💙

What self-care can you add into your day?☀️ #selfcareseptember
Don't give up! Don't stop fighting for yourself and your dream! Do not allow others to knock you from your path to greatness. Remember...they aren't going anywhere, but YOU are! Be like the great Phoenix and walk through the fire with courage and your head held high. Others may doubt you, belittle you, judge and condemn you, but they aren't going anywhere with their life, YOU are! You have a purpose, a mission, and work to be done. Don't hang out with losers. Winners hang out with other winners, losers hang out with losers. They can't see where you are going, because the blind are never free. They aren't going anywhere, but YOU are! Today, be brave! Get up from the table when love is no longer being served. Do something, anything that takes a step towards your goal. Set an intention to repurpose yourself to your dream. Sometimes you must leave the ones you've known to become who you are meant to be. The Warrior fights his battles, he does not cave. The Warrior is going places, the rest are not! Forge your path! You and your dream are worth fighting for. 💜
As Summer comes to a close and the Fall season begins, it reminds me of things I talk about in my book, Seasons Of Discovery. Our lives are like the seasons. A perfectly timed metaphor for how our daily lives change. Life is about growth. We didn't come here to just work, pay bills, go home, and get up to do it all over again the next day. We are here in "Earth School" to learn, to live, and to grow our soul purpose. As we grow, learn, and evolve, we change. In those times of change, we outgrow certain people, places, and things. Everything has its time. All of us and everything has an expiration date. When the seasons of our life change, the best thing we can do to avoid further pain is to let go. When a season comes to a close, the ending can be tough, but we can move forward in the confidence of knowing when something ends...something WILL begin. Today, help us to let go, to trust this process of life's evolution and to know something better will come. Affirmation: I trust the ending of my seasonal relationships. I know something even better is now coming for me. ❤
Sooner or later, bad will find each of us. No one is immune. It is part of the journey of life. But what we make of it, do with it, is entirely up to us. Bad times do not define us unless you let it. Bad days are not your final destination. That test you are going through has the power to be your testimony. The lessons presented comes to grow us into better versions of ourselves. We are here to evolve. It is sad when people choose to stay stuck in their pain. It is a story they can relate to and a story they like to tell. But whether we see it or not, there is a flip side to every painful event. It is our job to find out what it has come to show us, to teach us. When we can do this, we are becoming masters in the classroom called, Life. Today, stay where you are as long as you need, but...get back up as soon as you can and fight for your victory! Do not let what happened to you to define you. It simply came to grow you! You are NOT defeated unless you choose that path. ❤
Affirmation: I AM Victorious!
