Part of Saturday's leg day. I'm still working on the low back issue, but it's getting at better. Thursday morning was the first morning I could get out if bed easily without looking like I was crippled. I have been continuing my rehab routine of stretching, rolling, reverse hypers and scorpion stretches. Initially on Friday I had in my mind that I was going to try to squat, but on Saturday my back felt a little more tight even after my 30 minute rehab routine, so I opted not to. Either way knew I could still effectively work my legs by using mostly compound lifts rather than throw in the towel and say "this sucks" and leave. First I hit the belt squats again and went a little heavier. The extra pressure on the hips/low back from the belt felt really good. I used to do these all the time back in the day, I forgot how much I love them. 5x8. Next I decided to put some more load on my back, so I did sandbag squats with 130 lbs sandbag 4 x20. I really like these because of the way the body's center of gravity is located is relatively easy on the low back and the upper back, shoulders and arms also get some additional work. Then I did reverse lunges on the squat machine to work any imbalances 4x10 each leg. Lunges and Bulgarian split squats always destroy my ass and hamstrings. Lastly I superset leg ext and leg curl 4x15 each exercise. I'm thinking I may do some additional more instuctiinal videos on the belt squat and sandbag squat. Today’s workout was during hour 38 of a 40 hour fast and holy crap did it get tiring by the latter end.

This was technically the third workout within that fasting window and surprisingly I managed to hit all the projected numbers for the entire session.

I’m really enjoying intermittent fasting and I’m further enjoying experimenting with longer duration fasts. There’s an obvious health benefit to employing them regularly which has been heavily researched and documented but further than that comes the psychological challenge of pushing your own perceived limits and bucking societal norms.

It was oddly empowering to realize that I could go 40 hours without food even though it is so readily available almost every which way that we turn.
.
Tomorrow I will return to my normal fasting regimen. In about two weeks my goal is to successfully complete a 48 hour fast which will set a new milestone achievement.

The goal is a full 1 week fast.
.
I’m going to treat it identically to how I treat progressions in the gym and work at it in bite sized progressions that allow me to further develop my confidence and ability to successfully execute the task simultaneously.

SSB Good Morning – 250 lbs x 1 set x 5 reps / 225 lbs x 4 sets x 5 reps.
Low Bar Squat – 352 lbs x 10 sets x 1 rep.
Low Sled Drag – 300 lbs x 4 sets x turf & back.
Reverse Hyper – 360 lbs x 3 sets x 10 reps.

This loaded speed bag work I personally do for aesthetic purposes because of the crazy shoulder pump it gives me and Ive noticed it’s definitely increased the size and shape of my delts. This also helps in developing shoulder stability, strength and muscle endurance making it easier to hold your hands up when boxing. While not neglecting and still focusing on hand speed and hand eye coordination on the opposite hand hitting the bag. -

That's me having a realization after like sitting in bed for a very good amount of time 😂...these realizations never come at a convenient time.

I don't always feel good or do good or look good...there always going to be off days, off weeks , off months, off chapters....it's okay and I have to deal with it. Some people deal with their problems by being super shiny and bright and colorful and it works for them. Others get angry because it feels like life isn't giving them a break. Some just see trouble coming and just turn around and go back in their shell untill the storm passes by and it works for them. 
Sometimes you have to be real with it and realize that it's okay to have off days and not feel like doing stuff. DONT GET IT TWISTED  do it anyways...Put in the work anyways, on the off days keep putting in work. Not everyone is going to like you, not everyone is going to understand you or believe in the same things you believe. 
I am always eager and ambitious to do a lot of things and sometimes I feel like I am not achieving as much as I want to ....I have to realize that's it's okay but that doesn't mean I am going to give up....I am going to still put in the work and effort anyways ....do it anyways, acknowledge that things aren't going your way, deal with it and do it anyways.....because if every time I don't feel good is going to keep me away from achieving this or that, no one would achieve anything. 
Some people will straight up tell you just like my instructors told me once " f*ck your feelings ...nobody cares"....you didn't place where you wanted to place, reengage in the zone and get at it. 
At a point in time, you are going to need to figure that ☝️out for yourself, you are going to need to look really good at your life and decide that if there's something you want and stand up for, you need to go get it.

CONTROLLED INTENSITY...... This is something that’s very rarely seen in gyms now day.  Consistency is easier ( I’m not saying it’s easy though). You see lots of people turn up to their gym / fitness place day in day out with no CONTROLLED INTENSITY.  They think that having a membership and just going to a gym is enough to allow them to reach their goals. 
This I feel is not completely the gym goers fault, but also the fitness industries fault for not being completely honest with its participants.  We are told you can do this and achieve that just by signing up with gym X or Y. We are never told the truth ....... Maybe that’s done to not scare away any potential cash cow. 
Imagine they said you need to train with Intensity all ( >90% ) of the time.  You need to not just show up, you need to put in the effort and be consistent. You need to train hard and rest adequately, plus you need to eat well most ( again >90% ) of the time. 
Imagine they said it will take you months if not years to really achieve your goals. Imagine they said let’s be realistic about your goals and re-assess them every 3-4 months. Etc etc etc 
Imagine how many people would actually go to a gym/fitness facility. 
But...... if after all of that you still want to work out and get fit and health, please please please bring some CONTROLLED INTENSITY. 
This along with discipline and consistency will certainly help you achieve your goals
