Its about that time for a transformation…!
That girl on the left was a freshman in college. She graduated high school so lonely, so lost, but so ready for a new adventure. That girl partied 3-4 nights a week. She drank like a FISH. She ate like a PIG. She never worked out, even though she played sports all throughout high school. I thought I was “living my best life.”
Well I was so wrong. I was drinking to fit in. I was partying to fit in. I thought I had to go out and be the life of the party to have friends. I WAS SO WRONG.
I found the gym. I found my happy place. I found something to relieve the stress of college/work. I found something to soothe my anxiety. It seemed like no one around me understood what I felt in the gym. But it was something that I was okay with. Because I finally felt peace within myself. .
I have never been one of those girls with a huge group of friends. I hav always had just 1-2 close friends. And thats something I have learned to be okay with. I always wanted to be the popular girl, with all the friends. BUT I would much rather have genuine relationships with people. Ad I grow older, I start to realize who and what really matters.
The only important things in my life right now are being healthy and happy in every single aspect of my life. I have an awesome boyfriend who treats me like a queen, 2 great dogs, a supportive family and a solid group of friends. Life is finally starting to feel like it is falling into place. .
So here is my advice,,,, FFFFF the haters. BE YOU. Stop giving a crap about that people think. Do what makes YOU happy. Because in the end, you only have 1 shot at life.. so why not do it right??
Self-care has been hijacked
by pretty Insty pics, and
marketers trying to sell a service,
taking advantage of your untethered soul,
your lack of inward connection and truly
yourself and what you MOST need.
Self-care is giving yourself what you need.
Not just bubble baths and chocolate bars,
but difficult conversations,
compassion for your mistakes,
kind words to your body,
pushing yourself to your uncomfortable edge.
It is permission to believe that you are worthy
without ever lifting a finger.

Workout of the Day: 💪🏻
10x10 – 100 m run, 10 wall balls (20/14) 🏃♀️
Build to 2 heavy overhead squats (in 20 minutes)
400 m run, 15 overhead squats (95/65 or 75/55) x5
Well, the big bad 20 miler is in the books. The stretch coming back down MLK was tough mentally but powered through. There was a water station with 2 miles left that I was not expecting that lifted my spirits a bit. Thanks to @phillyrun and @philly_marathon for putting on this training run. Sure does make training easier when you have a group like that and like you all supporting and motivating along the way. #tapertime
DIVINE brunching at @brunswick_east .. this is Japanese omelette with all the trimmings and a couple of surprises. Such delicious food, highly recommend. They also do the best avo toast and that is a frickin’ bold claim in East London 🙃
