When I asked my Dad whether he would come with me today to pick up some doors, I don’t think he thought it involved a not so quick trip to SW London. They are worth it though. It was also quite nice spending 7 hours in the car just chatting with my Dad about not very much. Building your own house can leave you unable to have normal conversations with people. #selfbuild#hardwood#hardwooddoors#frenchdoors#ebay#buildonabudget#countryhome#m25carpark
Day 4 of #myhousethismonth not Day 3 (I realised yesterday that I had started counting from 2nd April not the 1st 🤦🏼♀️) Today’s post is of my door. Living in a 10 year old house with horrid uPVC doors didn’t leave me with much inspiration. So I’ve taken some poetic license (cheated) and I’m sharing a picture of a door my clever husband made. My Father-in-Law lives in a 300 year old cottage with irregular stone walls and struggled to find a hardwood door to fit. So clever hubs to the rescue. This was all made by hand out of sepia red wood and oak. Needless to say in our next house we’ll be having handmade wooden doors too 😊
