I spent the last week in and around Yosemite National Park. I lived in California for 25 years, and yet had never been there. I’ve been very close to it, but never found my way into the park. It really is a spectacular place, and I’m glad to have finally experienced its wonder! I’ll be sharing some sketches from my trip soon. Who’s been here? What was your favorite spot?
💋 Fun fact about me:
Growing up I spent about 4 summers in Yosemite as a backpacking intern, which is something I’m very proud of! In that time I learned that I can survive out in the middle of nowhere, without a phone, Starbucks or pizza.
Crazy right?! 😱
Being outside in places like this, helps me handle my anxiety. It reminds me that when things seem overwhelming they aren’t really that big at all. I mean look at this photo! That’s half dome, that’s a real place, and it’s huge. (No not just a default computer background.) 💻
Yosemite NP, California ❤️
Half Dome summit conquered! 4am start, 18.3 miles, 16 hours, no permit, and two down ass friends making my birthday wish come true. Definitely one of the most physically and mentally challenging hikes I’ve ever done and totally worth every second.

A week ago we got to hang out with Ian’s family who came to meet up with us in Yosemite National Park. It was really nice to get to spend some time together. In this picture Ian and his dad are climbing some of the many granite stairs leading up the Half Dome trail. We managed to get a last minute permit to hike up Half Dome (unfortunately wet conditions prevented us from using the cables.) It was still a beautiful hike—and satisfyingly difficult. There’s nothing like 4800 feet of elevation gain to really make the pizza taste great afterward. .

Full moon road trips to cross backyard wonders off le bucket list 🌞 Every new place I go I fall in love with this wild and beautiful planet a little more, and every time I leave for home I am filled with inspiration to set out again (after a good long nap!). Who knows where I will wander next, or what spirits I'll greet along the way... thank you for having me #yosemite#yosemitevalley#halfdome
