Trying something new here. Such a windy night, but the cloud streaking effect with the moon sitting behind worked out a treat! 🌬❄️🌙💨

Happy NAIDOC week everybody! This year is titled 'Because of Her, We Can', focussing is on influential aboriginal women. ABC RN told me this morning that NAIDOC actually started in the 20s as a day of mourning in Australian churches called 'aboriginal sunday'. This was at a time when aboriginal Australians were still 40 years away from being considered citizens under Commonwealth law. It is now a week long celebration of cultures across the continent.
.
This photo is one that you would have seen if you live in this incredible island that is now called Australia. It outlines the different language and people groups prior to invasion that resulted in the settlement of my British ancestors here. So much diversity of culture! In the Blue Mountains where I live the land is traditionally held by the Darug and Gundungurra people.
.
This week reminds me of the gratitude I have for the strong and generous aboriginal women that I have met in the last few years, who constantly shake my worldview on topics such as living out forgiveness, knowing where you are from, listening to the land and always making sure there is laughter at gatherings...
.
Specifically traditional owners in the Eastern Kuku-Yalanji region in lower Cape York, including Ngunkal, Yalanji and Jalunji people. I am full of gratitude to these women (& men) who have opened their homes and country to me and others though organisations like @redearthorg. Also influential in my slow and bumbling learning is Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr from Naiyur and MK Turner an Arrernte elder. I've never met either of these women personally but their words and work have made a big impression on me. Happy Naidoc everybody, would love to hear what you get up to to celebrate ☀🎉 .

Hey guys, I have submitted an entry to the Paddy Pallin "Save the Blue Mountains Wild Rivers" photography competition. As you can understand this is very close to my heart and it would be so kind of you if you could vote for my entry! This picture is from the Gungarlook waterhole when the water was higher and this sweet little guy was having a morning swim. Link in my bio! A lenda das três irmãs! 📖
.

The family went away for my Mums 60th on a 600 acre property on the weekend. She joined me interested as I went out to take a shot of the night sky. We produced this eerie shot as the wind angrily shook the trees! Happy 60th Mum (@greencheryllee), you have been such a massive influence on my life and have shaped me into the man I have finally become! ⭐️💫✨😉

On 7 May, I posted photographs of Aboriginal bird footprint engravings on a rock platform in Blackheath. I went back again yesterday after doing some research. I have marked my photo to show all the footprints I found and an axe grinding groove. The footprints are visually aligned with Mount Banks #gundungurra #rockengraving #rockart #indigenousaustralia #blackheathnsw #bluemountainsnationalpark #nswparks #bluemountains

October 2016 in the Megalong Valley on a bushwalk. You can see Panorama Point up above the tree line. Not able to do anything long yet until my body system sorts itself out. So I’m looking back through old pics. Keeping motivated by planning bushwalks for when I’m back there🌿 I miss it. #megalongvalley #bluemountains #australiannativeplants #bushwalk #gundungurra #stayingmotivated #panoramapoint #onedayatatime #healing #recovery #myway

Trying to sort through photos & videos & I just had to share this. No matter how many times I walk or camp here I don’t get tired of it. It holds a special place in my heart.
