I think this photo sums up my time at yesterday’s Satellite World Cup in Stockholm pretty well. I fenced pretty poorly in the first round and then in the second, after a few minor niggles during training earlier in the week, suffered a slip while fencing one of the Irish team members which only accentuated the injury and put an end to the small chance I had of progressing. In the end I finished a disappointing 98th. Now time to head to the physio and see what I can do to recover before next weekend in Geneva! 🤺
I asked a woman in a group to take my photo and she asked me if I was alone. After snapping a few, her friend hopped in and they said “you’re never alone!” Halfway through my first solo trip and I’ve already met so many wonderful people. Whether in passing or at a dinner table and it has shown me that despite what ugliness we think is happening around us, there really is a beautiful world out there. And what’s more is that it’s filled with beautiful people.
