It might not be independent but it’s a Chicago icon! We sampled a flight here and, honestly, the beers were pretty damn good! I tried the Soleil experimental saison with kombucha and ginger, the Paper Umbrella tropical IPA, the Old Grumpy Man double hopped IPA and the Dublin Stour dry Irish stout. Im not a massive stout fan but have been pushing myself to try styles that I don’t normally taste so I don’t get style fatigue but this stout didn’t really do it for me. It had a nice roasty coffee and chocolate taste but was quite thin and watery. I was expecting it to be thick considering it was served on nitro—but might be my ignorance of the style? Either way, LOVED the Paper Umbrella! Could’ve drank that all night long!
Friday's dinner at Goose Island. Food was good, mango and watermelon beer were really good, and just luv the industrial interior and decor of this place. Great vibes overall and just steps away from my place...I will most definitely be back!
As Jesus passed by, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.
While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat with Jesus and his disciples.
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" He heard this and said, "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words, I desire mercy, not sacrifice. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." -- Matthew 9:9-13
