*HOW TO LOSE FAT or HOW TO GAIN MUSCLE* by @skiman.factual.fitness

So this is a common everyday question that I get and most have a huge misconception that the two are very different but as a matter of "FACTUAL" *wink wink* there are not.  There's subtle tweaks to the macros is all and that is highly individualized.

So lets go over the some of the key points shall we?! I want you to understand that in order to build, maintain and sustain muscle we must give it a reason to stay or grow.  That's the nature of a lifters career, every heard the term "use it or lose it"? That is exactly what we are doing here.  The training that built your body will be the training that you will use in order to lean down.  I recommend that you stay the RPE scale of intensity of 75% or higher of your 1 rep max.  This is usually a good amount of weight that you can handle in the 4-10 rep range.

Lets talk about nutrition, protein is the only forgivable macro that you'll for the most part keep the same, as you get leaner you may require a little more protein but to keep it simple here for the folks just getting started, just keep your same intake.  I recommend you start at the minimal of 0.8 grams per pound of body weight, like said though if you like protein and want to have some insurance you can go higher.  That is the individuals preference.

Here's where we differ now!  The intake, in order to lose weight you have to be in a deficit.  I recommend that the pace be 1-1.5 lbs lost per week, keep this slow and steady pace to insure you are not losing at too quick of pace, we do not need to go crash ham diet to get shredded.

Now for the surplus, a good gauge of weight gain is 2-4 lbs per mouth, it's a pretty slow rate whenever you break it down per week but this keeps us mindful of putting on weight slowly, therefore yielding fat gains.

A lot of men struggle to build bigger arms simply because they lack the correct formula. It’s easy to get confused on what you should be doing to build bigger arms with all the broscience out there. Here is exactly what you need to start doing to build up those arms.

The problem I see with guys who struggle to build their arms is, they are only training them one day a week❌, they are not eating enough to support muscle growth❌, and they are too focused on weight❌ and less on proper form.

If you want to build bigger arms you’re going to need to ✅prioritize them. Meaning, you should start the week off training arms and should aim to train them 2-3 times in a week. Secondly, you’re going to need to ✅get your diet to align with your goals. If your goal is to build bigger arms, you’re going to need more calories in a day to support growth! And lastly, ✅forget about how much weight you’re curling, your body does not read dumbbell numbers, it reads TENSION. Lose your ego and start to focus on proper form and STRONG contractions.

Man lernt nie aus, da denkt man man macht es richtig, dann kommt einer daher zeigt es in einer anderen Variante, ist verwirrt weils extrem viel anstrengender ist, googlet es und stellt fest dass es garnicht so sein kann 😅 und so wie ichs immer gemacht habe ists auch nicht gabz richtig. Für die, die meine Story schauen; Variante 1 wurde mir übrigens so gezeigt und so wie bei der zweiten Variante habe ichs immer gemacht. Haben mich viele tolle Tipps erreicht, ich danke dafür. Manchmal, wenn ich Tipps gebe habe ich das Gefühl, dass der oder diejenige sich gekränkt fühlt bei den Antworten die darauf folgen 😅 ich hingegen bin für Kritik echt offen, man lernt schließlich nie aus. Man muss eine Sache immer und immer wieder tun um es zu perfektionieren. Selbst Profis arbeiten mit jedem Mal an sich, also sehr Kritik mehr als Geschenk, schließlich will man einem nix böses. Abwägen, ausprobieren, nachforschen ausprobieren und entscheiden.
Habe gestern echt viele Sätze gemacht und wie man sieht kam ich extrem ins schwitzen. Finde immer mehr gefallen wieder an den Grundübungen und freue mich auf die kommenden Workouts, um diese zu verbessern. PRs waren gestern noch nicht so ganz wichtig obwohl ich heiss wie Hulle war, aber Technik ist wichtiger und ich habe auch noch ne weitere Chance diese Woche im Heben ein PR zu rocken. Heute Restday, morgen Gehts weiter 💪

Inmiddels ben ik nu 5 weken met mijn vetverlies traject bezig. Dit doe ik d.m.v. een Ad Libitum aanpak. Simpel gezegd: eten tot dat je verzadigd bent, zonder het bijhouden van calorieën. Daarbij is het wel belangrijk om slimme voedselkeuzes te maken. Je kiest dus o.a. voedingsmiddelen die hoog scoren op de verzadigingsindex: groenten, low calorie fruit, aardappelen etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lichaamsgewicht zal altijd fluctueren i.v.m. wisselende maag/darm inhoud, waterretentie, energie inname en verbruik. 
Meet je progressie daarom niet alleen a.d.h.v. je lichaamsgewicht, maar meet ook wekelijks je omtrekken en/of huidplooimetingen op een vaste plek, daarnaast kan je dan nog 1x per 1-2 weken progressie foto’s maken. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Completed 2 consecutive rounds as a giant circuit working flat out on a 30s on 30s off ratio followed by a 1000m row for time👊

1. Knee pull burpee variation

2. Band resisted low bag hugs

3. Bag ball slams

4. Band resisted sprint reloads

5. Band resisted bag flips

6. Fast bag jump reloads

7. Band resisted broad bag jumps with hip extension.

30s work...30s rest...change exercises...repeat through all 7 exercises twice then hop on an ergo a smash out a 1000m with all you have left in the tank!💪 Tag a mate to go smash this with you and help get you shredded!😎

You need to start with Step 1 and move on to the next step when you have it dialed in. Meaning: get in a caloric deficit, then make sure you're eating enough protein daily with a good balance of carbs and fats. For the most part all these are pretty much self explanatory but for the captions sake, here's a few mistakes as to why you may not be adding MUSCLE. I've included a few key points as to what you need to do in order to optimize muscle growth.

1). Progressive Overloading
-Key to muscle growth is to get stronger, strength has a strong correlation to muscle growth. Progress the weight by reps, sets or weight.  Basically you want to progression in some fashion of volume.

2). Tracking macros/calories.
-Figuring out the numbers for your own body type is key.  Finding you true maintenance is crucial if you want to know whether you are gaining or losing.  In this example we would want to gain muscle therefore you'd be aiming for 2-4 lbs. gained per month and roughly eating 200-300 calories more than your maintenance intake.

3). Track the trends(your data)
-This is where keeping track of the data plays a key role in knowing that you are gaining at the right pace and also what types or food and how much food is effecting your body in what way.  Remember we want to add lean muscle mass and not just weight.  That's how you can gain fat if you are gaining at too fast of a rate.

4) Programming
-Have a split in mind that you want to chart down and progress in volume over time.  Whatever split you have be mindful of how your lifts are going, what you did last week whether it be strength or endurance training.  I personally keep a journal that I write down all my sets and reps manually.  I'm sure there are apps these days to where you can jot the data down seamlessly, I'm just old school that way.

However, we don’t always succeed in the gym, we don’t always look amazing nor can we lift a really heavy weight! Some days we won’t be as strong/feel as good as others and that’s okay.

Lighting/angle is the best but hey ho 🤷🏽‍♂️ back at it after a very heavy weekend, still recovering but had to push through it! -
Focused on mainly hypertrophy today for my back and bi’s!

Killed my arms off by doing:
4 x 12 incline dumbell curls 
Then finishing off with 15/12 cable curls 💪🏼 AMRAP for the last set 👌🏻

Lighting/angle is the best but hey ho 🤷🏽‍♂️ back at it after a very heavy weekend, still recovering but had to push through it! - Focused on mainly hypertrophy today for my back and bi’s! Killed my arms off by doing: 4 x 12 incline dumbell curls Then finishing off with 15/12 cable curls 💪🏼 AMRAP for the last set 👌🏻 - For any advice or a general chit chat drop me a message! Chicken legs on show 👌🏻 my legs are one major part of my body that are lagging even though I train them atleast twice a week! -
If you want to make your calves burn get yourself a smith machine, slap some weights on it and do some weighted standing calve raises 💪🏼 I did 4 sets of 20 reps and they were burning 👌🏻 Decent leg session today doing squats, RDL, curls etc! Hopefully they’re not too sore for tomorrow 👀

Not sure what happened yesterday but got some rest and feeling good, switched up my programme and did some new moves! Swipe ➡️ to see some barbell rows!

Today’s session:
•Warm up (scapula retraction/rotator cuff)
•Bent over row 4 x 10
•Wide grip pull down 3 x 8
•Seated cable row 3 x 10
•Flat barbell press 4 x 8
•Seated barbell shoulder press 3 x 10
•Decline close grip bench press 3 x 8
•Across chest hammer curl 3 x 8

Decided to do wall walks to burn the upper body 🤷🏽‍♂️

Today has been a very demotivating and exhausting day. I went to the gym to do a leg session and left after twenty minutes. I was exhausted and was mentally in it. 
You need to remember to REST! Over the weekend I had very little sleep but still went to the gym, it’s been warm and I have not been drinking enough aswell as been on a cut so eating a lot less than what I would!

After getting home for the gym, I decided to stop my cut few days early and start my bulk. Today I’ve eaten crap and loads of it, Do i feel bad? No. 
I’m refuelling my body and eating what I’ve missed for the past 4-6 weeks.

Early night for me to start my bulk properly tomorrow to do a heavy push session!

But remember everyone needs to REST!

I don’t have an athletes body, I’m not ‘massive’ or ‘lean’ but I’m better than I was yesterday, a week ago and a month ago. Can’t wait to get on them carbs and get building some muscle!
