Time for another #gypsycertified game review.
Life is Strange is like that teen romcom that you watch on netflix on a rainy weekend. It's filled with weird cheesy lines and moments that make you laugh at one time cry the next but underneath all that is a very mechanically sound game with a tremendous story that will keep you hooked long after you've finished it.
You're Max Caulfield, a teenage girl who's come back to her home town after a long time and she's taking a photography course (pretty boring right? BUT WAIT) after a certain tragedy witnessed by her she finds out she has the ability to control time (crowd goes: ooooohhhh) and she'll do anything to avert that tragedy. But as Sir Isaac Newton once said: "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction", in this case the actions and their subsequent reactions might affect everyone around her.
The gameplay is the usual walking simulator with a dash of time manipulation mechanics and LOTS of choices (THEY MATTER) and the one thing that this game deserves special brownie points is for the soundtrack. Game is episodic with around 5 episodes, each lasting 2-2.5 hours. Honestly some of the most amazing tracks I've heard in a game. So pick it up because you'll surely be missing out on one hell of an adventure if you choose to let this one go. Now's the right time to pick this up as LiS 2 is going to be released in the coming days.
Welcome to our weekly section called "indie love", where we focus on the most influential indie games without any specific order. The first edition packs twice the heat to take care of your indie itch.
Nobody knew PlayDead until they released Limbo out of nowhere. At that time indie games were starting to gain popularity and Limbo played an important part in creating the significant indie side of gaming we know today.
Limbo is a Dark atmospheric side scroller platformer, Dark atmospheric being the operative word here which made limbo stand out from all the other games of the time. The mechanics were simple but interesting, the sound was remarkable, the story was thought provoking. All the ingredients for a #gypsycertified game.
Then after what felt like an eternity Playdead released a spiritual successor to Limbo, Inside. People thought it could never surpass the ingenuity of Limbo and boy were they wrong. It improved every aspect of Limbo with better storytelling through it's environment to more trickier puzzles and a very satisfying ending. This again cemented PlayDead as the master of their craft. That's why they have two #gypsycertified games under their belt. (Like it matters heh)
P.S both games have a playtime of like 4-5 hours. SO GO FINISH THEM ON THE WEEKEND.
We're throwing it back!
Welcome to the 90s!
President Clinton did not have relations with that woman, the world faced a pop music revolution, Michael Jordan was at the pinnacle of his game and THE KING OF IRON FIST TOURNAMENT 3 rocked our world.
This beat'em up classic gave us beloved characters such as Jin Kazama, the frustrating Eddy Gordo (all you eddy users should be ashamed of yourselves), the Bruce Lee impersonating Marshall Law and many more. From the frustratingly difficult character names to the beautiful level design and character individuality this game deserves all the thumbs up that it can get.
Tekken 3 hit the shelves in early 1997 and is widely considered as one of the greatest games of all time.
Beginning its journey in the endangered gaming race known as the 'arcade', Tekken 3 made its way to our living rooms for some brutal one on one battles for bragging rights.
This installment marked the beginning of the Mishima family's three spoked story and was an absolute pleasure to waste away your day with.
So those of you with your vintage Playstation one consoles or those who enjoy the guilty pleasure of homebrew (we do not endorse piracy, enter generic condemnation of piracy here_____), it's time to shake off your cobwebs and fire up this gem of a game.
With the beautifully cinematic character endings (revolutionary for the period) and absolute button mashing gameplay. This title is certainly #gypsycertified !
Attention! All you devious gamers with an appetite for badass bald assassins killing from the shadows and then sliding away unnoticed.
Have you ever felt limited in a game? Where you want to be able to be creative with how you execute the perfect kill? Hitman is the definitive elixir to quench that thirst.
The Hitman series is the absolute pinnacle of assassination games and it has been around since the year 2000 when Hitman: Codename 47 hit the shelves. Since then the sadistic little folks at IO interactive have given us titles like 'Blood Money' and the classic 'Silent Assassin' to quench our murderous desires in more ways than can be fathomed.
This one though is their crowning jewel combining elements of gameplay from each installment.
Kills can be performed silently by poisoning, garroting with your fibre wire, drowning your foe in the toilet and even just going in all guns blazing.
Your missions allow you to disguise yourself as anyone ranging from security guards and waiters to the most outrageous outfits of Santa Claus, a runway model or just an Arab Sheikh with all the cash and flash.
The game itself is divided into episodes and contains beautifully designed sandbox maps featuring exotic holiday destinations (perfect backdrop for assasinations eh?)
The story is immersive and gripping but we won't spoil it for you, go pick up a copy yourself
The story coupled with all the challenges and the online contracts mode means that this game will give the average gamer well over 50 hours of gameplay.
Suit up Agent 47, your next assignment awaits you and it is definitely #gypsycertified !
Time to tell you guys a bit more about us
Well we're the gypsies, why the name you ask?
Because to be frank we just roam around annoying people and playing games. What makes us different you ask?
Well to answer that question we need to go back to the year 2018, where we felt that reviews have become too damn dry, long gone are the times where reviews used to discuss how the game actually made you feel and we, the gypsies have taken it upon ourselves to make sure we bring that feeling back to you.
So the rating system will be very simple, we'll just mess around in the game and just judge the fun factor (which is subjective of course but don't worry it'll be fun) and tell you whether the game is #gypsycertified or not.
(Don't worry it isn't a real thing.)
So SUIT UP for this hideo kojima esque adventure where you don't know what's happening and we don't either.
#LatePost This picture was taken by my uncle that he wants to play with my car. But, this time.. This car isn't mine anymore. I'm surely I'll play with this car again soon (SHUTTLE only)
NOTE: He paid us for IDR 1 million + to buy my card (including this car) and also it has been registered since last year ago.
Y'know what? My uncle had 3 cars with class SSSS, 2 cars in Indonesia (R33 and SUPRA) and 1 car in Japan (bat strength aura) with class SSSS1 (going to SSSSS) - R32 Aero set B. 😂
