Being a mother has taught me many things but one most of all is that to love you must first find love for yourself.. don’t be afraid to take 5 minutes to yourself to reflect and look back at what you have accomplished so far
Once you have... look toward the future with focus and and determination and make damn sure you acknowledge how kick ass you are 😘
“It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it were the only one we had.”
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross #waitfornothing
December is usually a time spent looking forward. This year, I find myself looking back.
2018 marked 11 years since I moved to Philly, with one suitcase, no money, no plan and only a welcoming couch waiting for me. 2018 also marked 13 years since the last time I stepped foot in Los Angeles; 13 years since I’ve seen a single member of my family. In that time, I’ve met great friends, I've loved great people. But I spent a lot of that time lost, lonely, angry, frozen over bad decisions, in denial of what I now realize was a very real depression, and just trying to maintain a semblance of myself, both of who I was and who I was discovering. I was just trying to survive. And I did that. I survived. Nobody will ever know how much it means to me to be able to say that. What I felt the moment I realized that somehow, I hopped on a plane, moved 3000 miles away, and learned how to take care of myself.
But I’m not 19 and lost anymore. I don’t need to just survive anymore. I know how to do that. What do I do next? 2019, you tell me.

This holiday season we are teaming up with Fresh Start to pass on self-care and love to women who have experienced homelessness and are working to change their lives. Did you know over half a million people were experiencing homelessness in the US and approximately 20,000 people in Nebraska went without a home every night this year. If it's on your heart to help we are collecting items for women that will make their everyday routines much more special. Items include but are not limited to: creams, body scrubs, makeup, hair care, body wash etc.. Do you have items that you haven't used and are willing to donate to someone who would truly appreciate it? Saturday December 15th is the last day to bring them in! We thank you in advance and happy holidays! Love, The Eucalyptus Family
