There was a time when I thought that the less calories you eat, the better your health. As time goes on in my Dietetics studies, I have seen that what is worse for your health is a poor relationship with food and yourself, and the inability to find balance between a wide range of foods that serve different purposes (pleasure, nutrition, energy, etc). You can eat all the veggies but still deprive yourself of treats that make you feel happy in life. Many develop disordered eating and cannot maintain the good health they actually may desire due to the limiting teachings of our society about nutrition. Calories in do not have to be compensated by calories out. They have to be given compassion. It was a great surprising weekend. Chicken pickle for the soul.. Apni mitti ki khushboo ki baat hi kuchh aur hoti hai...it's always the same story. Siblings, kids, in-laws staying abroad only ask for one thing...Ghar ka Khana. They may get everything at their supermarkets but jab India aaye toh yahan ke Masale aur achaar le jaana nahi bhulte. You can see their bags filled with Ma ke haath ka bana khana. So it does happen with me, my sis in law before coming down asked for the fresh masalas and chicken pickle I had made for Aniket. She said " ab aa rahi hoon so make all that food you put it up on fb" yes that was my trial by fire. When you miss home or don't have anything to eat, this pickle can be paired with steamed rice, chappatis, breads or theplas or you can go ahead and fill it up in your tacos too. This lot made for her to take back to Canada, a hurried pic as it had to be bottled and tightly packed so no presentation here..
