There are so many gorgeous monarchs this year. It's been years since I've seen this many! I could sit and watch them flit around all day. I'm happy they are enjoying all the beautiful blooms in the flower field. I always leave some for them. 😍
The cosmos are so spectacular this week that I feel like I could swim in them 🌸
Subscription pick-up at Sheila’s Place (153 Broadway St W) today. I’ll also have regular and mini mixed bouquets for sale, along with sweet peas and...DAHLIAS (limited). Our flowers will be available from 2:00-6:00pm.
Looking forward to seeing some of your faces!
Bouquet for a new baby girl. I know it’s got turquoise ribbon on, but I like turquoise. David Austin’s Margaret Merril is staring in these along with a rather huge delphinium, shamefully cut down to fit.
This summer has been a funny season for me for a few reasons... 1) I took on 50% less weddings this year to have some more time for myself so I don't burnout.. 2) I only planted a handful of seeds for annuals and about 10% of those actually grew. 3) I now wish I had rows and rows of 5' high cosmos swaying in the summer evenings, the flower beds where they all used to be because it feels very bare without late summer blooms. I think I need to revamp the garden beds a bit to allow for some wild and crazy cosmos to grow next year. So tonight I am really feeling nostalgic for this bouquet.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting with Cindy 👩🏼🌾💐of @farrish_farm in Weyers Cave, Virginia. Cindy and I participated together in the Floret Online Workshop and then met in person at a flower growers conference earlier this year. We have kept in touch through social media and today I had the opportunity to visit her beautiful farm with fruiting branches of blackberries, peaches and the most impressive crabapple tree I have ever seen. I especially enjoyed seeing different varieties of flowers and greenery in person like Pineapple Sage, Red Spike Amaranth, Love in a Puff and Bittersweet. Cindy has also created custom note cards printed with lovely images of flowers from her farm. It was refreshing to share with each other our different experiences as flower growers 👩🏼🌾, exchanging ideas where we have had successes and challenges. Her warm hospitality and our fruitful conversation on this sun-filled afternoon is what I call Time Well Spent! 🌻
