🦋When we lose our connection with nature, we lose the innate connection with ourselves. And that's when life feels confusing and isolating. 🦋My favourite medicine: forest bathing! 🌲💫You know it when you feel it: the instant calm that rushes through your senses and relieves your body of tension. A deep knowing of "all is well" + "you belong here" resurfaces.
Spending time in nature alleviates stress and helps us remember what it's like to be tuned into the flow of life. When we're feeling lost in the world, it's because we've temporarily forgotten the essence of who we are, why we're here, what we came here to create and how to be of service to others in a meaningful, impactful way.
Nature holds the space where everything is revealed. It's truly the best classroom.
What you're really asking for is to be shown the truth about yourself. During the initial stages of developing + strengthening the spiritual component of ourselves, it's a little shaky. It takes time to trust your inner wisdom & voice. To start making decisions from your heart. If you think your inner guidance system isn't working, or you don't know "how" to hear & listen from within, here's a few ways to develop it:
1. Spend time ALONE. Read self development books, listen to podcasts, hire a coach, rest & sleep more. It's easier to feel clarity and make better decisions when you're well rested.
2. Go for long walks in nature by yourself or with friends who already have a lot of positive momentum going.
3. Begin a meditation practice and find a method that works for you. Guided verbal meditations are too distracting for me. Complete silence makes me fall asleep. I listen to crystal sound bowls, lie down and cover myself with a blanket. When you're comfortable, close your eyes, take a deep breath, envision pure positive white light entering through the crown of your head, filling your heart space, then breathing out through your body to the soles of your feet and into the earth. Reverse.
4. Daydream often about what your ideal life would be like & how amazing it would feel. Which emotions best describe it?

Staring at the powerful Lower Falls in Spokane, Washington. We had such a blast exploring Spokane and all the adventures around the city—we never expected to find so many cool things to do there, but we left pleasantly surprised. During our visit, we went zip lining, white water rafting, hiking, ate at a bunch of delicious restaurants, and wandered around Riverfront Park right downtown—couldn’t have asked for a better couple of days! #FIGambassador
Hanging out on the Swinging Bridge at Riverside State Park in Spokane, Washington, before heading out on a hike along the river. Earlier in the morning we rafted the rapids that flow under the bridge, so it was fun to see the river from another angle!
We were playing hide-and-seek with the monuments and fog last weekend in Rapid City, SD. So happy that Badlands National Park decided to clear up for a bit, so that we could see the beautiful landscapes! ⠀

We are spending the weekend in Rapid City, South Dakota, for the #InstaMeetRapidCity with @travelmindset and @visitrapidcity! We can’t wait to be back in the area again for another visit. Some of the spots we will be exploring are Mount Rushmore, The Badlands, Custer State Park, and Hay Camp Brewing Company. If you are in Rapid City this weekend, come out and join us!⠀

I went to my first barre class this morning and I'll tell ya- I get what all the hype is about! Totally loved it. My workouts are usually so masculine/yang - running, Orangetheory, lifting heavy weights, etc. It felt good to soften things & bring more yin/feminine energy to my fitness routine.
In other news, I've been eating chips & guac all day and cruising around town in my new PAZ romper from @figclothing - seriously loving their spring & summer line. Use JOANNAG20 for 20% off your order!
