‘Tis the season for my favourite vegetable! Sprouts!
I know they’re not for everyone but I can’t get enough. These ones are just steamed but I really love them marinated with garlic, balsamic and agave nectar and then slow roasted🤤
Had the new(ish) Tesco chicken and veg pie and it was ok. I was expecting the ‘chicken’ to be those chunks that they do but it was a minced style inside. Pastry was nice. Lots of rosemary.
Had so many potatoes lately so instead of mash I made cauli cheese with breadcrumbs and pine nuts 👌🏼👌🏼
Vegan Cranberry Orange Buns, uhm, yes please! 😋

As a conscious creator and business idea connoisseur, I often find my lesser ideas getting pushed back due to this final question, "Will it expand with a positive and beneficial impact or a negative and foreboding one?" If the latter, then I can the idea until I find a way it can actually create a ripple effect of good. This is how I know the world would be better had the creators of plastic been more conscious before selling this patent. They create trillions of dollars for themselves but trillions of problems for the whole world. I get upset when I see stores like 'Five Below' open to sell pounds of worthless clunk of plastic toys to kids that will either throw them away or litter them away for a whole new mini plastic dinosaur or apple. And to the creators of them, like why make these? Because you can? Because money is involved? Morals and ethics in business are too lax and greed and hubris are too lenient. The fact that you can be anything you want and create anything you desire, doesn't mean you should if it damages the world around you. Think about this the next time you go to the beach and see a dead sea animal float ashore, or plastic bottle tap your leg, or taste heavy metals from your faucet, or witness your skin blotching after you shower.
Remember, you are a creator, however, what kind are you?
Btw, thank you to all the creators and scientists out there finding solutions for the earth. Your presence and energy is valuable to us all.

Why Vintage Jewellery Makes the Perfect Gift This Christmas
1) It’s unique
If you’re thinking of buying vintage jewellery for your nearest and dearest this Christmas, the chances are they mean quite a lot to you, so why not get them something rare that’s almost as special as they are? While the high street produces much of the same kinds of styles and designs that are in line with the latest trend, antique or vintage accessories are rare at least, and sometimes even one of a kind.
2) It’s got a whole lot of story
Whether it’s round a wrist, finger or neck, vintage jewellery have a story to tell, making for great conversation at parties. Each ornament is likely to have been linked to a gesture at least once during its lengthy existence.
3) It’s ethical
When you opt for jewellery of this nature, you lessen the demand on the modern methods of sourcing. The lucky recipient will appreciate the thoughtfulness behind such a gift, and caring for others is arguably one of the most attractive traits there is.

Do you need a Christmas gift for your dog? APE Malaysia’s TuffTug pet toys are upcycled from fire hoses and aircraft internal waste such as seat belts. The producers put their proceeds towards enrichment and habitat restoration efforts of orangutans
For most humans, pigs and dogs do not belong to the same “category.” Pigs, cows, goats, or sheep, are given lower importance than pets who we treat as friends. But when we ask why, the answer is usually “that is just how it is.” As times change, we begin to look a little deeper and we realise that these “different” animals are not so different at all.
Edgar’s Mission sanctuary provides a safe haven for these animals and lets people to see another side to farm animals. Sadie the pig found her home there, and this sweet picture of her with her new human friend shows how curious and loving pigs are.
Sadly, the number of pigs who are not so lucky is incomparably larger.
Pigs are smart with an amazing memory, they're social and form strong bonds with other animals, and they really enjoy their playtime. The life they are subjected to in the farming industry is a painful existence of confinement and unacceptable living conditions. Luckily, more and more of us see that this reality has to change and are learning to see farm animals, and all animals, as someones rather than somethings.
This incredible awakening is thanks, in large part, to sanctuaries like Edgar’s Mission. To learn more about Edgar’s Mission and support their work visit their facebook page :) - photo source; Edgar's Mission.
Oh, Canada Post. We can't live with you and, sadly, we can't live without you. Well, actually, the big guys can live without you. They already are. It's us little guys who can't. That's who this labour dispute is killing. Small businesses that can't swallow the much higher shipping prices from the other couriers. Small businesses that rely on the holiday season to bring in as much as ONE THIRD of their annual revenues! Bah Humbug indeed!
So what's a small online retailer to do? We're doing our best to get your gifts to you and find creative ways to do it and keep costs low. Read our update (link in bio) if you want to know more about how we're handling the Canada Post dispute, but read on for a few tips to help us and other businesses like us:
1. SHOP LOCAL - This is the time to shop at your local small businesses or seek out online retailers that are in your same city (Toronto, we're talking to YOU!). Please don't abandon the small guys. We are working our butts off behind the scenes to make sure we can still get you your gifts by Christmas. 🛍️️️
2. ORDER EARLY - We can't stress this enough. The backlog will only worsen with the upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. The earlier you order, the easier it will be to ensure you get it with plenty of time to spare. 🐦
3. ADJUST SHIPPING EXPECTATIONS - We've come to expect fast and free shipping on everything because of certain businesses that use it as a loss leader. Take time to plan out your purchases and try to do them all at once, so if there are higher shipping charges, they're absorbed across multiple purchases. Plus, it reduces the carbon footprint that multiple deliveries create and is far better for the planet. 🌍
We're hoping that this is all a moot point in a few days and the government steps in to put an end to the rotating strikes. And, then, many then, we can all breathe a sigh of relief (because, let us tell you, there hasn't been a lot of breathing happening around here the last few days). 🙏
