30 is a bit of an emotional birthday for me particularly as I no longer have any living “blood relatives” but as ever the wonderful people in my life who are my family have made it happy rather than sad emotion so in the words of the great #ernesthemmingway “If there's empty spaces in your heart,
They'll make you think it's wrong,
Like having empty spaces,
Means you never can be strong,
But I've learned that all these spaces,
Means there's room enough to grow,
And the people that once filled them,
Were always meant to be let go,
And all these empty spaces,
Create a strange sort of pull,
That attract so many people,
You wouldn't meet if they were full,
So if you're made of empty spaces,
Don't ever think it's wrong,
Because maybe they're just empty,
Until the right person comes along.

"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a movable feast."
. "Si vous avez eu la chance d'avoir vécu à Paris lorsque vous étiez un jeune homme, alors, où que vous alliez pour le reste de votre vie, elle reste avec vous, Paris est une fête" .
.(A bit sad to be back but let's enjoy in Paris too.
Un peu triste d'être de retour mais je compte bien m'amuser à Paris aussi)
2018 Conservation Cruise!✅
Dr. Guy Harvey and a team from the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, @nsusharktagging, National Coral Reef Institute and @oceanconservancy cruised for conservation last week on board the #NorwegianEscape !
This ship is Guy’s largest canvas to date and serves as a massive platform for ocean conservation. The ship departed from New York City, and hosted multiple educational presentations, live painting events and documentary showings including the premiere of Guy’s latest documentary, 'In the Footsteps of Hemmingway', a story of Guy and his daughter Jessica’s adventure to the home of #ErnestHemmingway , the inspiration of Guy’s earliest and current works of art!
In port, the team visited schools and universities including University of Central Florida in Orlando, Queens College and the Discovery Club at the Bahamas National Trust in Nassau, to share knowledge, science and love of our ocean and its inhabitants. Students of all ages enjoyed and benefited from Q&A sessions with experts in the fields of shark biology, coral reef biology, marine policy and more!

From today's light reading:
"The fish is my friend too." he said aloud. "I have never seen or heard of such a fish. But, I must kill him. I am glad that we do not have to kill the stars." Imagine if each day a man must try to kill the moon, he thought. The moon runs away. But imagine if a man each day should have to try to kill the sun? We were born lucky, he thought. ~Ernest Hemingway's The Old man and the sea.
8/10 for A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemmingway. It seemed only right to read an Ernest Hemmingway novel when we were visiting Key West and the house where he lived for several years in the 1930s. But maybe it wasnt the best choice as it had me sobbing in the car on the way to the airport when I finished it! Part war story, part love story, A Farewell to Arms chronicles an American soldier's experience in Italy during WW1 and tells the story of the nurse he falls in love with along the way. Hemmingway's style is quite matter of fact which took a while to get used to, but when he drops the bombshells it makes them have even more impact. Any ideas which of his books i should read next?
Garden Absinthe—Wormwood, Angelica, Bronze Fennel.
A fun experiment this year was making absinthe with herbs grown in the garden. Absinthe gets its name from Artemisia absinthium, the Latin name for its main ingredient wormwood. Like many spirits, it was originally invented as an medicinal elixir, but it’s rise to popularity came at the end of the 1800s when it was adapted by the Parisian bohemians and became a counterculturall symbol. This lead to it being condemned and labeled as a dangerous hallucinogenic substance by social conservatives and prohibitionists of the day. Even though wormwood contains trace amounts of thujone, a psychoactive compound, drinking absinthe sadly won’t make you hallucinate and see the green fairy. The spirit has a potent anise flavor and a bitterness imparted by the wormwood that is usually offset with some sugar and water. In cocktails, it can be used in larger amounts like in Ernest Hemingway’s “Death in the Afternoon”, or in smaller amounts as it is in the Sazerac. Come by @thefarmandfish and try either of these classics, or our new cocktail “The Swedish Nightingale” from the Fall drink menu.
👌🤔😂👏am i mistaken or didn't we hear #fakenews before???
#fake oldnews Orson Welles was not the 1st one who worked for ABC, a small radio show telling "fake news" broadcastings, he shocked many with his 1938 Halloween radio show War of the Worlds, as newspapers claimed his broadcast caused Hysterical Panic amongst Americans, in Fear of Martians attacking Earth, yes there were ppl who thought he was serious, and panicked (flight response) but tbh, 23 y/o Orson's show was low budget, and more ppl were listening to NBC Radio's Chase & Sanborn Radio hour, starring (get this) VENTRILOQUEST Edgar Bergen, & his wooden sidekick Charlie McCarthy...👌😏👏😂👏🤣 On the radio... listening to 1 or 2 ppl who are told to do their jobs, feed the listeners ears with what we want them to think we want for them to think they think they want to hear for themselves & become communities, so they said "goodbye #individual & your #identity & #liberty , it's going to be #just -us from now on, invite your friends, lets be #social & #free ... 💁♀️no way, like modern day ppl & t.v's...stuck, watching a box or hearing 30's radio & #ventriloquist w/a #talkingstick or Orson & his "martians"? No thank u, sounds like a waste of time, and neither were very well thought out...🤔👌🤤👏🤣👏🤣👏😂👏🤣👏😂👏🤣👏😂 👏😂
Orson's listeners pictured "Nazis" as the "Martians" to create it more plausible, and "fake news" was the plan all along, as it has continued over airways and televisions since. 🙄😏👏 Alien invasions & theories about Earth's shape, just shows how un-individual ppl really are... hardly anybody has an idea who they truly are, but they sure use societies labels loosely to form opinions about themselves & about other's... #beoriginal#identity#self#october#halloween#thursday#shenanigans ~ In 1937 Orson Welles, all of 22, found himself in a raging brawl with Ernest Hemingway, who didn't take kindly to a barely legal kid scrutinizing his script, so picked up a chair and had it. (oh Hemmy, no wonder i like you so much, same birthday, and you didn't take any shit.) #chair#fight#ernesthemmingway#1937#1938#hemmingway#vs#orsonwelles#welles#2k18#fakenews#fake#allthetime
It is good to envy, it is bad to be jealous,
It is good to improve, it is bad to compete!
I don't really have idols but I prefer choosing good qualities of most people who seem inspiring to me!
Grateful to have TRAINed 🚂 my mind on the tracks of life through traveling and reading. A difficult read 📖 for me “The Meaning of Happiness” by Alan Watts. I became curious when seeing this book in Charlottetown, 🇨🇦 bookstore. I can say I’m grateful for the freedom I have to feed positive input into my thoughts to lead me in reaping my desires💪🏻
“when one’s very life becomes an expression of gratitude, and this is the greatest happiness, for the meaning of happiness consists in three elements - freedom, gratitude, and the sense of wonder...these elements can be present in the most ordinary of lives” - Alan Watts ————————————————————

When will we start separating art from artist and stop giving excuses like 'but he was young', 'it is okay', 'his entire career is at stake' 'but his art doesn't speak of his character'. It fucking does. If you love Pablo's art you love Pablo's misogyny. If you love Gandhi's non violence you love his acts of nudity and so many more men that I can't stop counting. Stop fucking telling yourself that it's okay and stop justifying that you don't become an accessory by liking these so called artists'/leaders' work.
