A baseball pie From Rob and Tony’s in Maspeth Queens. Tangy sauce, crust on the dry side but crispy, not greasy, kind of reminds me of being at the Ground Round which reminds me of childhood therefore baseball. Like the pie you’d expect after a game of little league. All good things honestly. Go Yanks 🙌
Turn your intentions into actions. “I’ll start tomorrow”, “I’ll start when the kids go back to school”, “work is busy”, “I’m SOO tired”, “I don’t want to spend the money”. These are things we say, and I’m only naming a few, when we start to consider taking care of our health.
I get it. I did the same thing, for a long time. I didn’t know where to start, and even though I knew I wanted to do something, a part of me was scared. Scared to commit. Scared I wouldn’t do it right. There were sooo many things. I let negativity in my headspace.
But here’s the thing- if you’ll start tomorrow- then start today. If you’ll start when the kids go back to school- then start today.. because you’ll just find another reason then. Work is busy, I’m so tired- working out is a great way to release stress and give you energy... so start now. And lastly- I don’t want to spend money on it- why isn’t your health worth the investment? 💰 And why do we justify #starbucks everyday and #eatingout , which isn’t good for us... but not feeding our bodies with the food it ACTUALLY needs- start today.
My point is this- we will always have an excuse. Always. So why not turn our intentions into actions?... today. ❣️

Dinner out tonight at @blackdogsmoke_ and I went with this combo: Ice water to drink. A combo of Salmon and smoked Turkey with sweet potato sides. I ate the salmon and Turkey and 2 of the sweet potatoes without the skin and only used a teensy amount of the sauce (dipped my fork tip in 4 times total for just a hint of flavor). I brought 2 potatoes home for tomorrow. So freaking good. I'm stuffed, enjoyed my meal immensely and even have leftovers (which never happens!) What I avoided:
1. Ordering french fries
2. Using ALL the sauce like I would have previously
3. Eating ALL of the potatoes on my plate
4. Ordering an appetizer, specifically the tortilla chips and dip
5. Ordering a beer with dinner
