Great couple of days in Canada for Ironman Mont Tremblant, foggy (sub-par) swim, solid bike and a salvaged run created a PB by 9 minutes. Many lessons learned on the day and future goals are being set. Best venue I’ve raced yet, seemed like the party didn’t end! Little bit of rest, recovery and reading then one more race this season. #immt#flyonetime#triathlon#freshairandfreedom#maple#bocogear#drinkmaple @immonttremblant

This week was crazy to say 17 hours crazy. I learned so much about myself. #ididntdie
The body is amazing and can do amazing things. I have pushed myself more this week than ever before. Then I remembered why I do it- for them, for the ones who can't and for me.
I had my first flat in 5 years on my long ride. I miss my #gatorskin . I need to lather in #chamoisbutt 'r more for those long rides and runs😢
bonus, no limbs fell off so I get to do it another week. Just a little #rocktape keeping my knee and elbow held together #98daystoshine#imfoundation#triathlete#triathlon#tri365

tuesday morning kickstarter 😌☕️
whether it’s coffee, matcha, or a superfood smoothie, we’re always blendin’ up something in the kitchen 🌀- usually before we can form sentences in the morn 😴
today’s fuel / our current go-to coffee concoction 👉🏼
• 1/3 cup @traderjoes organic coffee concentrate • 2/3 cup water
• generous splash of @nuttylife.boston cashew milk (we used their ‘happy sappy’ w/ @drinkmaple, but any flav works)
• scoop of @vitalproteins collagen (increases froth factor 👌🏼)
• tsp @bulletproof MCT oil • 1/2 scoop @vitalproteins coconut creamer ~ blend for 1 min
Tough race for me yesterday but as always, I still managed to smile. Grinded my way to finish 9th in AG. The swim was meh, the bike went well, the run on the other hand...Usually the run is my strength but yesterday I was fighting cramps for the first 5 miles. I'm not sure yet what caused them but it was bad enough for me to wonder if I would finish at all. Luckily my Coach @amberdferreira is psychic and must have known I would have trouble. I kept reminding myself to stay in the moment and keep moving. Around the halfway point I was feeling much better and was able to grind out the back half. This was one was tough and at times painful, but I'm proud of myself for pushing through and ultimately finishing within my goal. Huge shout out to my family who came to cheer and to all my friends and sponsors! Your support means the world to me.
It’s national chocolate chip cookie day... do yourself a favor and make some maple chocolate chip cookies!!! 🍪
• • •
1 ¼ cup all purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
3 cups old fashioned oats
¾ cups butter, softened
½ cup light brown sugar
½ cup cane sugar, or white sugar
2 tbsp DRINKmaple organic maple water
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup chocolate chips, or chopped dark chocolate
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and oats; set aside.
In a separate bowl, cream butter and both sugars together for at least one minute or until well combined. Then, add egg, DRINKmaple, syrup and vanilla to the bowl and whisk to combine.
Combine wet and dry ingredients then stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
Use an ice cream scooper or your hands to scoop dough out onto a baking sheet. Bake cookies for approximately 10 minutes. Remove them from the oven and wait a minute or two before carefully placing them onto a cooling rack.
2011 was my first 5K and it took me over an hour to complete. I stuck with that same race a few more years till moving up to a 10K in 2013.
2013 changed my life forever and with that first half marathon and 11 more under my belt. Health and self care was born with the purpose to help others dream big. Pushing my limits. -------------BUT------------
When I picked up a book and read someone @swimbikemom like me could do what I thought was the impossible forever changed my life.
People have come and gone- while like an onion peeling layers to find the real me. The ones that stay and the ones who cheer from the sideline, thank you. 108 days till I toe the Line and believe I will become an Ironman.
Memories, the good, bad and ugly cries to get this far isn't stopping me now.🐝
