Next, let's try Dish Room's Caesar Salad. Did you know that this famous salad was named after restaurateur Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant who lived in San Diego. Apparently he invented the salad when a Fourth of July 1924 rush depleted his kitchen's supplies so Cardini made do with what he had.
I asked you on my Insta-stories if you have tried Black Bean Dal before...and most of you said NO! Well, it is time to fix that...👍
Dal (Daal) is definitely one of my top favourite Indian dishes. Specifically - black beans dal! It is so rich and smooth I cannot imagine how anyone can not like it. The only downside - it is painful to cook unless you have a pressure-cooker. But here is my quick and simplified Dal with canned beans. Yeaahh yeahh it's not the same but it does thick the box and us, busy bees, can make it in 15 mins. And when we want the best long-cooked dal...we have Dishroom! 🤷🏽♀️
1 can of black beans ⠀
1 tbsp of creme fraiche (or plain yoghurt if #diet ) ⠀
2/3 tsp ground cardamom⠀
2/3 tsp ground cumin ⠀
1/3 garam masala ⠀
Some fennel seeds and anise ⠀
1. Drain beans, place in a saucepan, cover with boiling water and add all the spices. Slowly boil for 15 minutes adding water if necessary until it all has rich creamy dark texture. ⠀
2. Add a tbsp of cream/yoghurt. Mix it in. ⠀
3. Serve with another spoon of cream. ⠀❤️Enjoy! #lunch
