"You're not supposed to say well I'm a #meditator so just go ahead, anyone can cut me like a vegetable." -SN #Goenka on a #Vipassana#Meditation course
He's not wrong. Even the #Buddha was known to put his #Dharma foot down from time to time when things were unright.
Balance toward all things, #equanimity , is the way of the wise and those who have worked to witness #nirvana .
We will all experience ups and downs in the life. Pain is guaranteed but suffering is optional! Reduce the reaction by knowing the constant state of change inherent in all things; nothing in this universe, whether mind nor matter, can last forever.
Smile! ...and... Be Happy! 🤗
“Tudo o que você fizer, seja estudar os ensinamentos ou oferecer uma única lamparina, se o fizer com uma intenção pura - o desejo de alcançar a iluminação para o benefício de todos os seres -, será bastante poderoso. A intenção é muito importante. Mantenha essa intenção pura dentro de si.” Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche~

~ END OF YEAR STRESS ~
As Christmas is rapidly approaching, I'm hearing over and over again the stress that this entails.
The stress of trying to get things done before the end of the year, of spending time with family, of spending time WITHOUT family, of the financial pressure of Christmas presents and travel and the reminder that another year has passed.
I'm going to be emailing out my favourite strategies for stress reduction between now and Christmas.

Intention, affirmation, dharma, law of attraction, prayer, whatever you like to call it, getting a clear idea of the kind of reality you want to see in the future is not only an old tradition throughout many cultures, but is also becoming more widely understood, even among mainstream science and academia. According to activist, alternative media presenter and researcher, Ian R Crane, who had the remarkable opportunity to talk with people of the Q’ero tribe in Peru, visualisation and activism cannot be mutually exclusive if the desired goal is to be manifested. The Q’ero believe that at this particular moment in our history the world as we know it will go through enormous changes and that everyone has their role to play in this process. Due to our currently unsustainable way of living, for example debt based slavery, excessive consumerism/materialism, unnecessary and unethical manipulation of the natural world (GMO), and man-made environmental catastrophes this process must happen. The Q’ero say that the way in which we bring these changes about is by first of all visualising individually the kind of future we want to see, this can simply be done by taking some time out to reflect, however we must not get too attached to any particular outcome as the ultimate result may far exceed our wildest imagination. Once visualised we then must actively engage in our communities by spreading awareness and tackling issues that are important to us. In doing so we will discover many opportunities that can help us in achieving our goals. I personally agree that this method does in fact work as I have practiced it many times in both activism and my personal life with positive results. If this is something that sparks your interest then I would also recommend looking into an event called The Great Intention, a mass world wide coordinated meditation and positive visualisation session. Origins Life from chemicals X
Two especially well publicized experiments have frequently been misconstrued as being partially successful in producing life from chemicals. One is the work done with amino acids by Stanley Miller, a chemistry professor at the University of California at San Diego. The other is the "protocell experiments" of Sydney Fox, director of the Institute for Molecular and Cellular Evolution at the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
Miller sought to reconstruct conditions he believed existed at the "dawn of life" and thereby generate primitive organic forms from physical elements. Into a flask he placed gases thought to comprise the ancient atmosphere, and by passing a spark through this mixture he produced a brown, tarry substance on the walls of the container. This tarry substance included amino acids, the constituents of protein molecules.
He heralded this as a significant breakthrough and managed to impress many people, both inside and outside the scientific community. Yet Miller's experiments are actually of little, if any, significance. We would expect amino acids to form in Miller's experiment, because this technique automatically produces practically every simple organic molecule found in nature (the vast majority of which are poisonous to present-day life forms). Asked to predict the outcome of Miller's experiments, Harold Urey, a chemist at the University of California, put the whole affair into perspective when he replied, “Bielstein." (Bielstein is the German catalog of all known organic chemicals.) Furthermore, amino acids are relatively simple molecules, serving merely as the building blocks of the far more complex protein molecules found in cells. It's not surprising that a simple technique like Miller's produces simple chemical results, but it has yet to be demonstrated that such a simple process can produce complex cellular components and mechanisms. It's quite a step to go from unorganized building blocks to a house.
There is no better place to practice gratitude than walking through a graveyard.
It is teeming with life and the transformation that occurs after ‘death.’
Buddhism refutes the notion of ‘birth’ and ‘death’, instead we transform into something else. In this graveyard we can really contemplate that notion and I love it! Once you understand it you no longer fear death.
What a beautiful morning!
• This morning is the start of a three week break from teaching, guiding, sharing & holding space for others. I ADORE my ‘work’, but now my whole being is crying out for all my attention & intention to turn inward towards myself. Towards my own story.
As much as I know I need this it is not coming without a sense of guilt... an comfortable feeling towards stepping away. But retreating from giving so much to so many is what my soul needs for a little while.
I need to nurture my own being in the deepest of ways. I owe this to each person I hold space for, but more importantly I owe it to myself!
I am always telling others that ‘you can’t be everything to everyone’, ‘you can’t give to others unless you give to yourself first’ & this is what I am now honouring completely for myself.
As I slowly & softly wake this morning I feel, I know this is the best gift I could be giving.... Days of turning inward & listening to the rhythms & whispers of the self. Allowing my energy to flow freely for me & me alone.
I know this won’t be easy as I step away with care, but as my true purpose is to hold others I need to give myself those same permissions.
I need to honour my own story deeply & truly...
~ I will still be around on here, sharing my own practices, words & tales... ~ •

MAGIC MONDAY ❤️
Sometimes we tend to live in our head, worrying, being rational about EVERYTHING, thinking ahead of time, letting the past decide our actions in the moment and planning our next steps. It’s too much LIVING IN THE HEAD and we need more of LIVING IN AND BY THE HEART ❤️
The heart is full of magic and it’s from the heart we create, experience, keep and unfold the magic ⭐️
So start listening to what your heart has to say 🙏
But how the hell do you listen to your heart? What does it mean? Is my physical heart telling me something? Isn’t it a bit woo woo? 🙈
Okay so your heart doesn’t literally speak but you can still connect with this inner feeling of magic, your true self, your inner voice, your sense of true love or whatever we can call this inner feeling deep inside you. It’s like an inner message giving you advices which you KNOW is right but you resist or forget to listen. Because your mind tells you to 🌱keep going 🌳stay in the job you hate because it’s convenient or you need to endure it to get it on your résumé ☘️not embrace your dream because you’re not ready/good enough/experienced enough 🌿not be with the one you’re in love with because your parents don’t approve, his/her education is not good enough, he/she lives too far away, or you think you won’t be a good match in the future 🍃or not travel because it’s not good for your résumé, you will never get back to your career, and no one will hire you after half year of traveling ❤️
So much thinking - not that much magic! Your head will keep creating limiting thoughts and doubts but you don’t have to listen to it all. Rational thinking is good but let the voice of your heart count as well. It knows you well and it wants you to thrive and live a fulfilling life 🤩
