I have just signed myself up for a virtual fun run that supports a cause very close to my heart - Perinatal Depression and Anxiety. I did such a good job at masking my depression while pregnant, however once my daughter was born I reached my breaking point and I completely fell apart. Thanks to the support of my husband, mum, dad and friends I made it through, and I am now a much happier mum.
From the 17th -19th of August I will be running 15km for PANDA and raising awareness for perinatal mental health. It would be awesome if you could all join me in whatever distance you want to run or walk... plus there is some really cool bling!
I couldnt get this new path out of my head. Its not a pretty path by any stretch but it makes me sooo happy because for so long i would have to cross a major intersection and run along an old concrete paver path that randomly ended and left you running through peoples streets. Running alone is a bit scary. Running through house lined streets with minimal road traffic on your own even more so. Give me open main roads anytime. So i tested the hell out of it today. Completing a total lap of the suburb at nearly 8km, i did have to chase the sun and prob paced a little too fast for the starting back to running but gosh i missed that burn, and that alone music time. Just zoning out, one foot in front of the other, no stopping. .
