On this 33rd birthday, I feel almost as thrilled as I did at age 13 if I got a new set of X-Files trading cards (I'll post more about those later). Best pressie in years! #TwinPeaks#DavidLynch#MarkFrost#angelobadalamenti#DaleCooper @davidlynchfoundation @kyle_maclachlan @sherriisme @badalamenti.angelo
I know Kyle had aged but he still looks so much like the old Agent Cooper. And it’s much more obvious in person. I didn’t realize it as much in photos until after I met him. Because when I approached him, after I told him I was a huge fan of Twin Peaks, I paused and then I tried to form words but my brain was stuck on “He looks like Agent Cooper. I’m looking at Agent Cooper.” And then I just kind of stared at him awkwardly like I was in some sort of trance and didn’t say anything. Thankfully, he is very polite and shook my hand and said that it was very nice to meet me which brought me out of my trance and I asked for a picture. I don’t know how long I would have just stared at him, amazed that I was standing face to face with Agent Cooper, if he hadn’t done that though. The point of my story is, he looks so much like he did in 1990. I hadn’t even started The Return when I met him, because I had finished the last episode of the original Twin Peaks the night before. So the only Agent Cooper I knew was the original one and I was still amazed that I was standing there looking at him. And talking to him when I managed to form words.
