This is my spiritual practice.
To believe that it’s ok to use to my voice.
To share when I’m upset.
To make a request.
To ask for something more.
To vocalize hurt.
To communicate my fears and my doubts.
To stand up.
To be heard.
It is safe to use my voice.
Safe to have feelings.
Safe to have needs.
Safe to share when something is not ok.
Safe to change my mind.
Y’all this is still hard for me.
Most times I’m crying and trembling.
Afraid I will upset someone.
Or disappoint them.
Or worse make them leave.
Trying to make everyone happy and not rock the boat so that everyone gets the gift of avoiding the discomfort.
But ultimately that doesn’t serve anyone.
Especially not me.
It just encourages numbing. Coping. Stuffing. Silencing. And surviving.
None of which lead to a full beautiful honest life.
To be fully alive requires I find my voice. Even if it’s shaking.
And use it.
FORTY AND FAT ....maintain your direction by paying attention
Ever have that moment when you walk by the mirror or look at a photo of yourself and you jut stop breathing for a moment? You think to yourself, who is that ? How did this happen? How have I neglected myself for so long?
You see the lack of care for yourself.... and ladies I’m not just talking about your body but also your mind and soul.
It happens. One lb at a time. On my way! Food choice followed by another. Without attention to self.... drift happens. One choice at a time. And we know how to take the weight off it’s the keeping it off that has always been the challenge. The battle of the roller coaster ride of the scale and your emotions that go with that. And health. Let’s talk health. We can make a choice now to invest in ourself or pay for it later.
Paying attention... it’s that simple.
Or is it?
And let me say also it’s not always about a number on the scale... it’s not about a perfect size. It’s how you feel in your own skin. It’s about feeling strong and gaining energy and feeling good. “Mindless eating and aimless living both lead is to unintended destinations.... “ “Paying attention should be a habit... a consistent and regular practice that keeps you aware and in touch with your life”. Be sure to take yourself back to the moment of seeing yourself in the mirror or looking at a photo .... is this where you want to be? Can you show up each day and pay attention to what you are choosing each day. Your mindset ? The fuel you are feeding your mind? Your body? Are you being consistent? Do you feel good about all your choices today?
Make it a priority because baby you are worth it!
Remember Your Infinite Self ✨
It is summer solstice (or ‘Litha’) in the UK on Thursday 21 June, and winter solstice (or ‘Yule’) for our Southern Hemisphere brothers & sisters.
Whether you choose to honour the seasonal shift with (safe!) midsummer bonfires or Yule fires, may you also carve out precious moments to connect with the fire of your soul.
This is a liminal time; a time of in-between phases, where energy fluctuations are often met with sudden creative inspiration; nourishment needs may go through a surprising overhaul; intimate connections may deliver hard edges, or weak knees.
Notice the way your body is responding to the subtle changes in light; allow yourself the space to feel in to this moment, and let the gifts of your soul you are seeking find you.
Solstice journal prompts if you feel called to explore:
🌀What does my soul need?
🌀What feels expansive in my life?
🌀What am I afraid of?
🌀What am I really afraid of?
🌀What’s holding me back from living my truth?
🌀What is the next right action for me to take in alignment with the highest and best good of all?
Don’t forget to join the Wise Women Rise Circle on Thursday 28th June at 21:00 BST for a live oracle card reading and Full Moon guided journey to meet your Spirit Guide(s). It’s going to be magical!

A couple of months ago I was at the Vatican museums with my sister. I took this picture of a portrait of Socrates. Socrates was killed in 399 BC. Socrates is in many respects the father of philosophy, and he has definitely developed first the methodology of philosophy as moving from question to question. What I admire the most about this incredible man is his courage, his being intellectually honest, his putting the love for the truth before everything, including his own life. Philosophers these days tend to shy away from controversies even when they know that discussing a controversial idea is necessary in order to get closer to the truth. This is a huge problem, because it prevents progress, it prevents discovering the truth. We now risk to find ourselves in the middle of a media storm, or to lose out jobs, in the worst case. But we rarely risk our lives. So it seems that Socrates’ sacrifice was still much greater than any sacrifice might be required from us. I am in awe, more than 2000 after his death, of this man. He died because he put the search for the truth before anything else, and I’d like to think, he also died to give us all an example to follow. I’m doing my best, I hope more philosophers will. #philosophyiscool#socrates#philosophy#courage#philosophersneedtobebrave#controversy#istaystrong#vaticanmuseum
Each year, team Soul Story celebrates ‘haenyeo’, the Korean mermaids from Jeju Island, South Korea for their bravery and strength. For centuries, haenyeo (sea women) would swim out into the cold waters of the Korea Strait and go diving 10m under the sea without the aid of breathing equipment, in order to harvest abalone, conch and octopus.

Thanks to my friend Derick for sending me this. As I was busy having an argument about something this is a reminder of my duty to my daughter, my siblings and their children. I'm a young man but I know men twice by age who doesn't know the different between a father and a DAD. #fathersday#menofgodmonday#fathers#god#courage
