Engine Co. 7 was initially dispatch to a reported vehicle fire at the address, however San Antonio Fire’s Central Alarm Office started reviving multiple calls reporting a building on fire promoting the assignment to be upgraded to a Box Alarm. Engine 7 arrived on scene and declared a working fire as they pulled around to the the Charle side of the structure to find an attached car port with a car that was fully involved and auto exposing to the attached two story house, detached shed, and the fence line. Engine Co. No. 16 arrived and pulled a second attack line through the alpha side while Engine Co. No. 11 secured a water supply and assisted with fire attack. Platform-Ladder 11 was assigned search and ventilation and assisted with overhaul and salvage operations. Truck 11 member threw a ground ladder to the roof to check for extension on division 2. North West side crews worked a 2-11 Apartment Fire in the 6900 Blk Border Brook over night. Medic 45 checked out with heavy fire coming from a two story apartment building and advised that they would be evacuating buildings 19 and 20. Battalion Chief 3-0 while still in route dropped a 2nd Alarm upon Engine Company No. 45 arrival and size up stating that the Alpha exposure building was in imminent danger of catching on fire. BC 3-0 assumed command upon his arrival and declared this a Defensive operation. Platform-Ladder 32 took up the Alpha/Bravo side while Platform-Ladder 35 took up the Charlie/Delta corner and were flowing water out of both of their aerial devices. At about the 50 min time stamp, Battalion Chief 8-0, Charlie Sector, advised that they had knocked down the fire well enough to be able to transition to an offensive attack to knock down the remaining bulk of the fire. Crews were pulled out due by the Incident Safety Officer after a fear of collapse in the fire apartment and the roof/ceiling area of the breezy way. Thanks to an aggressive defensive posture, crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the neighboring apartment building, and remained on scene well through the night completing overhaul and salvage operations. Repost from @box120photography - Engine Co. No. 28 and Truck Co. No 17 laid out on a working apartment fire in the 100 blk of East Rampart St. in the city’s Shearer Hills / Ridgeview section of the city. While companies were checking in-route, San Antonio’s Fire Central Alarm office notified responding crews that they were receiving multiple calls of fire on the roof, and an elderly woman stuck in a second floor apartment. Truck 17 checked out with nothing showing, and upon making it inside of the apartment’s courtyard, found fire and smoke lapping from the roof and second floor breezeway. Truck 17’s Officer assumed Rampart command and requested the first in “motor” to go to the Delta side and pull a line. Engine 28 arrived and laid a line to the second floor for fire attack. Command advised the next in motor to tag a hydrant and for the third due Motor to pull a second attack line to the bravo side of the courtyard for extension and if needed fire attack. Battalion Chief 8-0 conducted a 360º of the building assumed command. Thanks to a coordinated and aggressive attack, companies held the fire in the roofline and prevented it’s spread across the attic and into the apartments below. Truck Co 17 forced a few doors, pulled some ceiling, and laddered the roof while Engines 28, 17, and 39 worked diligently pulling lines and put water on the fire all while battling 101º + heat today. Medical Officer 2 and Medic 39 were put to work rehabbing crews and apartment residents alike. BC8 placed an out tap on the box just after the 30min time stamp and released all box alarm companies and held it to a still alarm response. Companies on the ticket were EN17 EN23 EN28 EN31 EN39 TK06 TK17 TK37 MAC07 M39 MOF2 BC80 ISO

Engine Co.
