Since Christmas is right around the corner rocking some green. Here’s a simple circuit to try if you want something to hit your total body and you don’t have a lot of time but want something a bit challenging if you want to burn more fat you can add a cardio circuit in you do between sets 30 sec to 1 min and also increase reps and sets with each exercise. Like jump squats, burpees or jumping jacks depending how hard you want to make it.

Something worth thinking about.... even if your not following a specific training program what im about to explain is still very important for you to understand. Im gonna talk about Pre-exhaust and post-exhaust systems. This is referring to how you order your exercises. 
Pre-exhaust: this is when the isolation exercises are performed before the compound exercises. For example the isolation exercise might be tricep extensions, this isolates the triceps. Then the compound exercise could be flat bench press. 
Post-exhaust: this is when the isolation exercise is performed after the compound exercise for example bench followed by triceps extensions.

Thinking about this is important because if you perform the isolated exercises first (so using the previous example being the tricep extensions) the triceps will most likely fatigue before your chest will on the bench. ANTAGONIST SUPER SET

this is the same as the last type of superset I spoke about a couple of posts ago apart from one small difference. This uses antagonistic pairs rather then using the same muscle. for example, the biceps + triceps and quadriceps + hamstrings. So you might do a set of 10 dumbell curls and straight away you go into a set of 10 tricep extensions. These set types are great in those sessions where your running low on time! Do it right and you will definitely feel the burn!  It also helps increase training density which is crucial for any athlete.

My workouts consist of circuits of compound exercises with very little rest periods therefore burning a large amount of calories and getting a good cardio workout at the same time. 
Obviously my diet has to be in check and ensuring I’m consuming enough calories and protein within those calories to ensure that muscle atrophy doesn’t occur.

It was good to have my Athletic Conditioning class back after it was snowed out Monday.  After a warmup of dynamic movements we hit this interval circuit of 90 seconds work and 30 seconds rest.  2 full rounds of the circuit wasn't enough so we finished off with 2 rounds of Tabata which seemed easy they only had 20 seconds work/10 seconds rest.  Great job you beasts! 👍💪👍👊

“Early Bird gets the worm”. I got in a #fastedcardio circuit this morning. It actually wasn’t that early it was 7am but it was early enough for being a new Mom. Made possible by my not pictured loving husband snuggling my 3 year old and sleepy 3 month old.  As a Mom it’s a struggle to find time to workout especially with a newborn who sleep schedule is unpredictable. For me I in this stage it is not always scheduled I just try to use the pockets of time that I can. My goal is 3 days a week last week it was 2 this week it might be 4. Inch by inch we make it to our goals.

Last day working at RAF Fylingdales today so I gave them a Christmas themed circuit. Some very tedious links between the 12 days of Christmas song and some exercises though!

Training when travelling ✈️ So a few people asked whether I trained whilst away & the answer is.....of course! Training is my sanity, my passion and my therapy 💪🏻 The only difference was that I obviously wasn’t using all the dumbbells, barbells & equipment that I typically used to 🏋🏼‍♀️
I also didn’t have a hotel room or any sort of furniture to utilise for training, it really was the bare minimum
Instead my kit was this - a bag to lie on (my village was all dirt/sand), a resistance band & a brick 🤷🏼‍♀️
My sessions were circuit style (s/o to @niketraining app) and never lasted for more than 30 minutes and were usually at 05.30 in the morning (too damn hot after that) 🌅 
Yes, I’ve lost some muscle, mainly due to calorie deficit) but my fitness has improved & I really don’t think I look drastically different (picture was at the hotel before flying back to Heathrow).
