Some days you have to throw the to-do list out the window and just follow the inspiration where it takes you. After all, that tree across the street won’t look the same tomorrow. ...so...take 5 minutes this weekend to find your inspiration: take a walk, play the piano, write that chapter of your memoir while the memory is as vivid as those leaves. It might fade if you keep putting it off, and you deserve to take the time for yourself. #followyourinspiration
Sanding the painting. Oh yum! Back at it again. I went into the studio to organize it for working on 2 commissioned pieces next week and instead promptly ended up outside sanding one of the commissioned paintings I’d started a while back. After a good “creativity break” I knew exactly what I wanted to do to this one and started carving into the textured areas to create various heights and surface treatments. It helped to intermittently brush off the sanding dust to reveal the new surface. Gorgeous! A whole new avenue to explore now - I’m excited!
Painting has always been a way for me to connect with God. When I fully surrender, I’m often taken in a different direction. I started painting a ram today, but my brush brought me to these flowers. For me, painting isn’t about the final outcome, it’s the process I take to get there. #doitfortheprocess#flowers#bedeeplyrooted#abstractart

Finally unpacking my art supplies and paintings from the Morocco Retreat 🙈 all the details in this one are taking me right back to our rooftop painting studio in Marrakech....I just love how paintings are like time capsules for me, reminding me of what I was thinking and feeling when I made them 🦋
I’m stepping off line for a little stay-cation just my daughter and I, I’m ready for some much needed unplugged time. See you in a few days, and happy weekend you beautiful people 🙌
I’m reflecting back on the past few days and am feeling super grateful. I just participated in my first pop up shop, which I know may not seem like a big deal, but it’s certainly a milestone for me! Thank you to @acmnixon for inviting me to participate and sell my work! Thanks to my sweet husband for encouraging me to say yes and for picking up the slack at home while I prepared and was gone. I loved meeting all the mommy makers at the shop, shopping, and seeing their work in person!! @lupero_designs @foutacolors @monogrammingbuckhead @5littlemonkeysatlanta @mitchellfineart (I have such an art crush on your work!) @grateful.to.create @emeraldaugust @reganallisondesigns Thank y’all for holding my baby and having such grace with me during this sleep deprivation and newborn stage! I feel like such a mess and these ladies made me feel like not so much of one 💕
And thank you to everyone who purchased my work! I hope you love and enjoy your pieces! It’s such a privilege to have my work in your homes, you have no idea.
Happy Friday night y’all!
in case any of you are wondering why I’ve been so crap with new listings lately, it’s cause my MacBook decided it was time to die and now I’m laptopless for the foreseeable future :’-) so I’m sorry and please forgive meeeeee. here are lovely ROSAs, off to the states tomorrow!
It is paradoxical how much people only believe and feel what they can see and touch. In fact, what is essential inside us is invisible. The most important things in this life cannot be touched. Most people will probably spend their entire lives and not notice. Another thing that moves me greatly is that we do not know what tomorrow brings. I know reality is created through our thoughts, vibrations and the future draws closer each day; but life likes to play tricks. Surprises and challenges put us on unexpected and sometimes desperate journeys. To live is the art of adapting, and one can only survive this game by adapting to the strong currents that take us from time to time. In the midst of it all, we live such busy lives that we forget to appreciate and be thankful for the simple fact that we can breathe, the simple fact that we can open our eyes in the morning and be able to see our world. The simple fact we can smell, taste, and feel the colors ... The fact we hear the sounds, the birds, the waves of the sea and even the noise of the wind that hits our ear and messes our hair. We forget to be thankful for the essential. We forget to give value to what really matters, and we never stop to think of those who, for some reason, and chance have lost some of these basic functions of the body. We rarely stop to think about how they adapt to the world, how they feel, what are their daily challenges, their difficulties and how it is to deal with not only this, but also neglect. Simply because we do not see. Simply because we are not the ones who feel it, and that is where empathy comes in. That is where looking out for each other comes in. Feeling other's being. Just because we do not see it, does not mean it doesn't exist. Just because it is not us who suffer it, doesn't make it less important. The life of other counts just as much. After all, the importance of life is what unites us and makes us one. No one is invisible, the whole world needs to be accessible, and I know this is possible. People need to be heard. And the changes depends on each one of us. .

“I love the close-up view I was able to capture. This was inspired by the resting turtles you see on the daily basis at black sands beach, in Kailua Kona. Naturally I went with a different beach scene...who wants to play in ‘black sand’?”

I’m thinking I need to get out the big sheets of paper and go a little crazy on this color combo. To be honest I wasn’t thrilled when my son picked out the red color (it’s obvious blue is my jam) but this is just singing to me lately. Happy Friday instapeeps. Break out of that color rut and go crazy!!! #friyay

I usually make cakes and she usually makes flowers. 🎂 🌹 🎂 Today we inspired each other and made both. I’m trying to get rid of they’re “copying me” from my classes so I modeled by being inspired by one of my students.
