These should really be called Rumpelstiltskins - cos I know I'd give my firstborn for a steady supply of these savoury cannoli, filled with juicy, rare roast beef, tangy, creamy mascarpone, and a just-right touch of wasabi. Finished with chives, sprinkled with paprika and a dusting of sweetness, cradled in a crisp shell that cracks at the touch of your lips. This is true love! I had 6!
My first visit to the Old Bus Depot Markets today, and I TRIED to stop at one so I could try all the delicious things they had on offer, but after browsing every few stalls or so, I'd just NEED a cannoli, and go sheepishly back like some kind of stalker.
By my third trip, the guy behind the counter didn't even need to ask what kind I wanted. By the fifth, he very kindly decided that these would be his treat! Lovely gesture, and they were the most delicious of all.
The Cannoli Brothers would be one of the best discoveries I've made since I got to Canberra. Most of their cannoli are sweet, but they usually have at least one savoury kind (an asparagus and lemon butter was mentioned!). They're at markets, generally, and I'm already plotting the weekend.
TO EXCITED TO CONTAIN MYSELF
I am very excited that from next week we will be selling the #cannolibrothers famous Vanilla Bean Cannoli made locally in Canberra.
Now if you haven’t had one of these bad boys you must, trust me on this I could eat 20+ at once
I just got back from the @southernharvest.association farmer’s market and this week my produce box contained tomatoes, potatoes, onions, pumpkin, spaghetti squash, baby kale, baby bok Chou, turnip greens and cooking apples. I’m assuming the apples are Braeburn and I think I might use them in a crumble. I also splurged on a tray of cannoli from the @cannolibrothers ! #localproduce#queanbeyanfarmersmarket#cannolibrothers#cannoli
