Super low cal and very tasty 😊 But, I'm still way under for my daily caloric intake so I will probably have another meal in a couple hours or so, especially since I will probably be up late studying. 😅 Hope everyone had a great Monday! -

Today was an okay day even though my calories are higher than I wanted them to be. My dinner was higher than I planned but I accidentally added more Teriyaki sauce when I was measuring it out it poured over, which I measured out the calories for that. I also had the caramel apple pie greek yogurt as a dessert because I was craving something sweet but didn’t want to eat any junk. I’m to improve more tomorrow. I hope everyone had an amazing day! Made the most delicious apple muffins this afternoon. It’s taking a lot of self restraint not to eat a second one, but they’re 331 calories each so not very good for mindless snacking! BUT they’ve got lots of yummy nutritious ingredients and they’ve made my kitchen smell delicious so overall they were a good call I think! Recipe was adapted from one on the #jamieoliver Website. 
Recipe:
Blend together 150g margarine, 2tsp vanilla extract and 125g coconut sugar. Beat in one egg, then sift in 100g wholegrain flour and 2tsp baking powder. Add 100g ground almonds. Fold into the mixture. 
Roughly chop one green apple and 100g hazelnuts. Stir into the mixture, saving a few hazelnuts for the topping. 
Pour the mixture into a silicone muffin tin and press the remaining hazelnuts into the top. Bake at 200 degrees for 22 mins.

You actually don’t even need to exercise. As long as you’re in a caloric deficit you’ll still lose weight (I’d definitely recommend exercising though 😊 - it’ll help put you in that caloric deficit and make you gain muscle 👍🏼)

If you’re not losing weight you’ve got to either A) Move more B) Eat less or C) Move more AND Eat less - end of story .

I have been craving salmon so bad lately so I am happy to have that craving fulfilled 🤙🏻 Still trying to find new things to have for meals and this is definitely something I don’t normally have. I fully acknowledge how annoying this post is and I apologize for that. I get so many questions about losing fat in certain areas though. There are a ton of products, creams, drinks, exercises out there that claim to reduce fat in a specific area. THEY DO NOT WORK. Exercises that target an area will definitely burn calories and strengthen the muscles but won’t reduce the fat in that area. You just have to reduce your overall fat level and eventually it will disappear from where you want it to 👍🏼

Now to reduce your overall fat level your main priority should be on your nutrition and consuming fewer calories than your body burns. This is a caloric deficit and is vital for fat loss 😊

Exercising plays a major part in losing fat because you burn extra calories and build muscle which will help create your caloric deficit and ensure the fat you lose stays off 👊🏼

Getting enough protein is also very important. I recommend between 0.8-1.2 grams per pound of bodyweight. This may seem like a lot but your body will absorb it all. It will help keep your muscle mass, keep you feeling full and actually burns a lot of calories in its own digestion 👌🏼

Of course there are several other factors that are extremely important (Sleep, hydration, stress reduction etc) so make sure you work on those, as well 😎”

1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts 
1 Tbsp dried oregano

3 cucumbers, sliced
1.5 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
1 small red onion, sliced
4 cups packed arugula or other greens of choice

For the homemade Red Wine Vinaigrette :
3 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 fresh garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp dried oregano
sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to your taste

Instructions:
Place chicken in a shallow glass dish and add in oregano, lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt and pepper.
Allow to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes - or overnight, covered well - refrigerated.
Preheat a large skillet or grill on medium high heat and cook chicken for about 4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the inside.

Meanwhile, in a small glass bowl whisk
all dressing ingredients, then refrigerate until ready to use.
In a large salad bowl, (or 4 separate serving bowls) arrange arugula, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, chicken, and olives - nicely. Top with feta and drizzle dressing over.
Toss to combine all ingredients just before serving.

For me personally I’ve found that an 8 hour eating window works best for me. For others an 6 hour or 10 hour eating window might work better. Choose whatever time frame that works for you and run with it! People telling you, “you’re only allowed to have a 6 hour eating window” refer to IF as some magical thing. That’s not how I want to use it. It’s just a meal timing strategy. Choose a timeframe that works for you!!

Also, I like have my last meal 2 hour before I go to bed so I don’t wake up starving, this helps me in adhering to not eating in the morning better.

Vitamin C aka L-ascorbic acid is a water soluble vitamin that we must consume in our diet as it is an essential nutrient that we cannot synthesize within our bodies. The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) is 90mg for men and 75 for women. Luckily in the western world and most societies in the 21st century, vitamin C deficiency isn’t something we have to worry about. It’s fairly easy to get the adequate amount.

It seems that if you ask someone what a good source of vitamin C is, most would say oranges. It’s been beaten into our heads that oranges are the go to for vitamin C. They are a good source but there are many other foods that are higher than oranges. Yellow bell peppers for example have almost 4x the amount on a gram by gram basis. To get the RDA of vitamin C you’d need to eat 200g of oranges, about 1.5 whole oranges, or 45g of yellow peppers, about 1/4th of a pepper. Vitamin C is in lots of our fruit and vegetables so as I said before, deficiency isn’t something we really have to worry about as long as we are eating a balanced diet. Vitamin C isn’t likely to cause any serious adverse effects at high intake. Any excess will be excreted.

So what is vitamin C used for? One of the vitamin C’s main functions is to act as an antioxidant, which means it assists in stabilizing free radicals and can limit the formation of carcinogens. Protecting our bodies from oxidative damage can help to reduce the risk of certain cancers and from the development of cardiovascular disease. .

Yesterday I skipped the gym for the first time in like 7 months. I know sounds crazy to some people cuz rest days are very important. I still struggle with worry about getting back into old habits and losing my motivation to go to gym especially with holidays and cold weather coming. I’m glad I skipped tho. Man did my body need it.  This morning I had an amazing gym session. I had so much energy and it did not feel like a chore.

Yesterday we can also consider a #cheatday with this being the healthiest thing I ate. I barely used the ranch dressing, did not eat the croutons but it did not really matter cuz I did eat some nachos for an app, had some wine, ate some Carmel popcorn, and had a sliver of pie. I eyeballed, weighted the pie, and estimated and somehow I actually under ate( not sure how accurate)but I did have a lot of sodium/sugar. Way more then I am use to. •
I was reading about carb refeeding and how it is beneficial to fitness goals. So yesterday I’m actually calling a refeed ( I believe word choices are very important in a #fitnessjourney )It may have not been the healthiest way to do it but my body surprising felt and looked great this morning at the gym

While I tried to track as best I could it was next near impossible. All I know is I had way to much sodium and I sweated so much at the gym today and my eyeballs burned. •

Chicken & bacon salad or a Big Mac...” Most would naturally select the ‘salad’ as being healthier and containing fewer calories. However, semi-vigilant analyzers of food taking part in the study would select their response knowing that they are taking a shot in the dark. So today has not been good. I have binged and am on nearly 3000kcals for today🙄 tomorrow is my birthday so I’m going out for a meal but I’m hoping to stay under 800kcal. Tomorrow I will weight for the first time in two weeks and will post how much of a gain it has been. I’m expecting atleast 2kg. I am 4/5kg away from my goal so for the next few weeks I really need to knuckle down.
