Another great day out. Yesterday Jo and Nevil bought some comical art at the Silverton info centre - I asked if there was a book because it’s really great, funny art. The staff member showed us his book, but said there weren’t any more available. I remembered seeing the book before somewhere and had to try to think where. So we tried Broken Hill info centre - no luck. Think again - aha - maybe the RFDS - so we called and yes they had a few left. So we got our books and while buying them - the sales lady told us the artist lives in town - so we went out there to see if he would sign our books. He is such a lovely man and not only did he sign our books - he did a caricature and thumb print and also gave us a signed bookmark of the 12 sculptures as well. How good is that.#art#brokenhill#amazingaussieadventure
today’s pretty important, #rememberanceday , take a moment to think about the fact that the firing may have stopped, but the war continues for many of our brave military personnel and their families. If there is one thing I’ve taken away from my experience on the show, it’s that sometimes the most heroic hour of a soldier, isn’t on a battlefield, it’s choosing to stand up and ask for help when they come back home. #thanksforserving#veteransday
What a crackin’ day catering Paige + Jason’s gorgeous wedding yesterday. The cocktails were flowing early followed by 1000 canapés/mini meals for the bridal party and guests to enjoy topped off with a dessert table.
CONGRATULATIONS XXXX @paige_nash
One hundred years ago today World War 1 ended with the signing of an armistice between Germany and the Allies. Peace came 2 years too late for my Nan whose Dad had died on the western front at Estaires in December 1916. when I became a friend of the war memorial here in Canberra they sent me a packet of Flanders poppy seeds which I scattered in the garden. Every year around now they flower brilliant red and I remember a young Broken Hill girl who lost her miner father on the other side of the world. #remembranceday#brokenhill
