This scene doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but it’s a good reminder of Bilbo’s loyalty to Thorin that we get in the first movie but don’t get a lot in the second. By the way, this isn’t in the novel either. The people of Laketown take Thorin’s word because of the prophecy and they assume he is the one they prophesied. It clearly says that the fact that it was Thrór’s grandson instead of Thrór himself returning didn’t bother anybody and they begin to sing the prophecy.
The last edit is strictly because Thorin is absolutely gorgeous in this scene. 💕
Don’t you cry Erica. This is a really special one for me. My Dad lost his eyesight when I was four years old. When I was a kid, learning to read on my own, my Dad introduced me to his own personal collection of favourites. He told me that I would have to carry on reading and appreciating them, because he could never read them again. The first book was Watership Down, the second, The Hobbit. Thus began my love for fiction. #hobbiton#newzealand#theshire#bilbobaggins#bucketlist
The Return of the King
Written by J. R. R. Tolkien
This incredible book is 432 pages long, while the audiobook version is 18 hours and 18 minuets worth of brilliant story telling. In my opinion this book is a great end to an even greater story because of the plot, the characters, and because of the history that the author wrote to further explain certain aspects of the story. The last book in the “Lord of the Rings” series is in my opinion an amazing addition to the story as a whole because of the plot, for example the plot is split into “The War of the Ring”, where many great battles are fought, and “The End of the Third Age”, where Frodo’s journey with Sam into Mordor is concluded and many things happen before you reach the true end of the age. J. R. R. Tolkien in my opinion shows his literary talent by the way he developed the characters within his story, for example he successfully created two characters that morally oppose each other, yet they leave an impression on the reader, I’m talking about the “White Wizard” Gandalf and the former “White Wizard” Saruman. In my opinion this book is made even greater by the addition of the history of certain events that happened in Middle Earth, all of which are very important to the story. The setting of this book is the land of Middle Earth, where many races, such as men, elves, dwarfs, hobbits, and other creatures both good and evil, live and coexist. This book has in my opinion many great heroes worthy of praise and honor. The main villain of this story is Sauron, an evil shadow that holds sway over many evil and horrific creatures and men. The ending of this story is very satisfying and definitely worth experiencing.
Eng: I could write a lot, describe it beautifully, but I would rather insert the lyrics from the song. Far over the Misty Mountains rise
Lead us standing upon the height
What was before we see once more
Is our kingdom a distant light
Fiery mountain beneath a moon
The words aren't spoken, we'll be there soon
For home a song that echoes on
And all who find us
Will know the tune
