When I got married my husband introduced me to a guy named @daveramsey and it was rather life changing.
I have always been more of a saver, so the only debt I brought into our marriage was my 2008 Mustang. We got her paid off in the first year of marriage and haven't had a car payment since 2012 👌🏻
We built up our emergency fund the best we could and for the most part have been able to buy our needs in cash. We did open up a couple store no interest credit cards to make a larger purchase, but turned right around and paid them off in just a couple months.
Our only current debt is our two homes (we moved from FL to NH). We are currently in the stage of paying those off so we can be totally debt free!
All this to say that if you're looking for an easy to use and super helpful budgeting app, I highly reccomend the EveryDollar app! It keeps you on track and can be linked to your bank account which makes it easy to log all of your expenses in the correct catagory!

Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.

These 'small' choices will have BIG impacts on our overall health and will eventually dictate the kind of life we are going to live. Because lets be honest, obesity doesn't happen overnight.
Everyday we choose the food we are going to put into our bodies and what we decide to eat will dictate whether we are feeding or fighting disease.
So today I encourage you to be mindful of how you are fueling your body, because your life matters and you are loved. 😘

A photo with no chickens?! Believe it or not I do have other interests 😂
Back in December I decided I wanted to try out acrylic painting. Guess what?! I LOVE IT! My first two paintings were of chickens (shocking huh?) and I gifted them to my niece and nephew for Christmas.
I got the idea to paint from my good friend Craig Pursley (follow him @craigpursleyart ) My husband and I had posed as live models (fully clothed 🤣) for one of his portrait work shops in November. It was there that I had a mindset shift.
I decided I could paint. I had never tried to before, but I just decided that I knew I could do it. So I went home and I did. Not only was I not half bad, but I realized that it was something I really enjoyed doing!
So here's to making mindset shifts. Because who knows what amazing things you're missing out on because your mind is telling you that "you can't".
What is one thing you've been wanting to try, but haven't yet because "you can't?"
Your journey starts when you decide to start making lifestyle changes that will better your overall health.
I think most people come up with only two factors when you ask them what they would consider as a 'healthy lifestlye'. Exercise & Diet.
Those are both valid answers, but I believe there is more to it. Everyday we expose ourselves to chemicals and toxins that can cause serious health issues.
We pay big $$$ to buy organic foods and gym memberships and then turn around and clean our homes with chemicals that cause: cancer, asthma, skin irritations, infertility, and more.
That's why I'm so excited to be able to share with you about products that I use EVERYDAY and that I know are both safe for humans and the environment! Because when we know better we do better!

Today I want to talk you about an ingredient that I highly recommend eliminating from your life. You will find this in shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, deodorants, and more.
PARABENS: methyl-parabrn, propyl-paraben, butyl-paraben, ethyl-paraben. They are used as a preservative in beauty products.
So what do they do to the human body? Great question 😉
☆ Disrupts hormone function
☆ Can cause infertility
☆ Early puberty in children
☆ Early menopause in women
They wreck havoc on your body and you will find that they are EVERYWHERE! However its becoming a lot easier to find paraben free products now, but always scan your products at the store before assuming they are safe. Just because its "paraben free" doesn't mean that they didn't replace it with a different toxic preservative.

Did you get a chance to scan your beauty products yet to see their toxicity rating? If so you may have found that your soap/bodywash didn't rate well. I know mine didn't 😬
What if I told you that you don't need to use soap or bodywash to get clean?! You can simply use water and the Norwex bodyscrub mitt! Hear me out. I haven't used soap or bodywash for over two years and I only shower 3 times a week (my hygiene may be questionable 🤷🏻♀️), but my skin is the healthiest it's ever been.

Why I eat carbs😋 many trend diets are cutting the carbohydrates. Fads are nothing new. They come and go with different names. One thing that doesn’t change is the source of fuel your body was created to burn. As a Christian believing God created my body with divine knowledge I have to trust His design. You see your bodies main fuel in which it burns is glucose (aka sugar). Now there are different types of sugar, you may know them as simple and complex. The way your body converts and uses these sugars is slightly different. The problem with trying to force your body to burn fat instead of carbs is simple, it may work for rapid weight loss, but in the long run it will wreak havoc, trust me, I know first hand. When I switched back to the forbidden carbs, I regained my energy, slept better and felt satisfied longer. Sweet woman, We are not a society addicted to carbs, we are addicted to nutrient depleted “foods” this is vastly different. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, these are all nutrient dense foods which have been eaten since the beginning of time. Packages with labels are a relatively new invention. Addictions to nutrient depleted foods are not the same as loving the fruit from the tree. I am here to tell you, don’t be afraid to eat real, Whole Foods that are filled with super, nutrient dense properties. Three years ago I didn't give any thought to what chemicals I was exposing myself and my husband to. I just bought the products I knew were popular and worked and called it a day. Then I went to a friend's Norwex party and my mind was blown 🤯 •
I didn't know. I didn't know that my dryer sheets contained chemicals that cause cancer. I didn't know that the cleaning products I was using were causing respiratory issues for my husband. I didn't know that I had other options. Safe options nonetheless!
But now I know and so I do better. I use apps like "Think dirty" and "EWG" to check the ingredients in products before I decide to bring them home! I clean 90% of my home with just water and a cloth thanks to Norwex! I make conscious decisions every day to be more environmentally friendly.
My hope is to educate you so that YOU can do better too! I'm here for YOU and my goal is to serve you the best that I know how.

Even a journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step.
For years I avoided essential oils. The thought of using them overwhelmed me. I decided to start with just a couple oils I bought at Whole Foods (they were labeled organic, so I thought they had to be pure, right?).
There were plenty of aromatherapists giving these companies awesome reviews & telling people to avoid MLM oils. I naively assumed they knew best since they were certified aromatherapists.
But I am an avid researcher. And when I wasn't seeing the changes I was wanting with my store bought oils, I decided to dive deeper into research. So research I did. And I found something surprising.
These aromatherapists were trained based on English aromatherapy. If you go back & research the origins of this school of thought, you find it’s origins are research done on *fragrance grade* oils, not truly 100% unadulterated, pure essential oil. Suddenly things started making sense.
I learned that some of these companies I was purchasing from actually used chemical solvents to distill their oils (which voids most of the benefits of organic). Some of them cut their oils with less expensive ones (lavadin in lavender, wintergreen/spearmint in peppermint, & sometimes contained as little as 10% actual essential oil)— legally they do not have to disclose any of this & can still label their oils 100% pure therapeutic grade.
Then, I found Young Living Essential Oils: The only company to own their own farms, grow their plants with beyond organic standards, hand pick them, distill & bottle their own oils, AND test their oils almost obsessively to ensure that the oils are truly pure and also contain all the necessary constituents to be therapeutic.

What a privilege and what comfort it is to know that I know that I know the oils in our bottles are exactly what they’re labeled. And the absolute purest version of them too.

As Christians, God created us for us for his glory and to fulfil his purpose on Earth. In order to live life, we need certain essential amenities, air, water, food, a place to sleep. Without food for a period of time, starvation occurs and after that death.
What about God's word? If we do not continue feeding ourselves with his word, we become lukewarm, after that our hearts turn into stone. Why is that? This is because we only want to hear what we want to hear, not the truth, not God's word, so we seek for what we satisfy us and this affects all of us, our churches.
With pastors preaching prosperity, we focusing on worldly things, a shortage occurs, then there is a famine - the hearing of words of the Lord in our churches which is supposed to nourish us spiritually.
When last did you open your Bible to Nourish your soul? When last did you pray? When last did you just say THANK YOU LORD and ask for nothing?
Food for thought! What if you could trust your body? What if you could re-wire your neuropathways and find peace with food? Would you take the step? Would you change your direction? Body love is so much more than simply accepting your body in the present moment. It is being free to walk in your story at your own pace, chugging along as quickly or as slowly as you feel led. Saturday morning side plank dips. Okay. Moment of truth. Sometimes I wake up a little cranky. Not sure why. I spend my quiet time with Jesus, but still feel off. I know I am prone to feel down. My heart is truly prone to wander. My Hashimotos flares and gives me a run for my money. I grab my mat, head outside for a little cardio and strength sesh and within minutes I can feel the cloud lifting. My hormones need a little re-adjustment and my mind needs to re-focus. Happy hormones (endorphins) are released and I can sense myself returning. Autoimmune disease is hard. It is like a silent snipper. No one else sees them, accept the one who has been hit. I say choose JOY, because I believe in fighting for it! I say trust God, because in my trials I have known Him in a way I had never before. I believe in becoming mindful, loving your body well, nourishing and fighting the battle of the mind, because dear woman... I am walking the walk. I am thankful I haven’t made this journey by myself. I am grateful that God is allowing me to take many adventures with other women as they seek after God, pursue lifestyle wellness, desire to shed weight physically and spiritually and live this life abundantly! This is your moment. You were made for so much more.

Because they are worth it! When my journey began to change how I view my body, how I speak about it, how I treat it, and what I choose to believe about it, I realized I didn’t want my kids to struggle the way I had. I came to a place where I understood these precious people ARE listening, watching and absorbing. My life is teaching them. If we are a product of our thoughts then in order to stop body shaming, self-hate and seek after love, joy and peace we MUST at all costs begin the hard process of taking our thoughts captive and trust God to transform our minds. In scripture we are commanded to meditate and pray. We are told to hide the Word within our hearts.
