Do you sit for hours on end for work or school?
Try this great hip flexor stretch! Not only will it feel great during, but it will ease the tension in your hips and lower back.
Kneel on the floor with one leg ahead of you, just like in this picture. With your back straight and your arms either over your head or hands resting on your hips (or holding something for support), simply shift your hips forward. You should feel a pull in the front of your hips!
Hold this stretch for 30 seconds to a minute (or longer). Repeat on the other side. Try to incorporate this stretch into a daily routine. Your body will thank you!
I saw this image on a friend's ig yesterday and loved it so much I knew I had to share. I'd like to see people do this activity! I'm going to start a jar today. :) I'd also love to see a variation on this where you write something you love/like about yourself or something you're proud of. :) or perhaps make a jar for your family and write something nice about them for them to open in a year. ⚠️⚠️Long Post Ahead ⚠️⚠️ I so vividly remember sitting at Dr. Baker’s office the day after my car accident being told I wasn’t going to be able to work, I couldn’t run, and he didn’t know what my body would allow me to run again. I was crushed. Two weeks earlier I ran the Seattle full marathon no problem. I had never not worked before. I remember feeling lost, hurt, and so confused. Fast forward 8 months, I was cleared to run! I was SO happy! However, I kept hitting a wall. The weight I had put on since not being active and not eating well was hindering me greatly...physically, mentally, and emotionally. I let fear of re-injuring myself really hold me back. Well, not anymore! 😭🙌🏼 I have been training the last few weeks for this race and just registered for it this morning! 💗 I am so thankful for the products that are fueling my body so well that my relationship with food has COMPLETELY changed and for a tribe of people who encourage, uplift, and push me out of the cage of fear I had built up for myself. •••I am strong. I am capable. I am worth it. ••• This is my running mantra that helps push me through....when my mind needs to remember what my body is capable of. I hope my words encourage at least one person today...it is so easy to let fear hold you back. I would really encourage you to face your fears head on and overcome them! I believe in you👊🏼
