How do you measure your self worth.
Is it the productivity of your day, the amount of calories you consumed, whether you fit into the pair of jeans? Do you base your worth on the opinion of others, or how much debt you might have? Or how many books you read, the amount of college degrees you’ve earned?
For years I based my worth on physical appearance and how happy I made others (family, friends). And to be honest I was losing at both. So in the long run I felt unworthy. It’s hard when your path changes and you are trying to figure out what makes you tick! I ask myself questions like this often. Why are you doing this JEANETTE? Is this going to make you feel better? Are you passionate about this? Do you get any gratification? Is it too selfish? The truth is I don’t know what I want or what makes me happy. I know that I have options and my world is unlimited. I have a plan for my future and I believe it will bring me happiness, but do I know that it will for sure? No. Finding yourself can be an adventure, and it can be scary, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give yourself every opportunity to find your best life. Take chances, make mistakes, cry, laugh! “Yoga is where breath and movement come together in harmony.”
As a former collegiate athlete yoga strengthens my body and mind in ways that allow me to run, bike, swim, golf and ski...in all ways to move with grace and strength.
I earned my first certification locally surrounded by a myriad of Indy’s teachers. Today I teach alongside many new friends and the journey is ongoing with additional certification … for to practice and learn is to be the student always. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yoga enhances every part of my life as this practice deepens the cognitive, the physical and the spiritual connection to our surroundings.” Come practice a beautiful Hot Vinyasa Flow with Gretchen every Tuesday morning at 9am here at Studio 105 Yoga. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Beautiful clothes and things to lay on, beautiful photos and lighting and filters.. its all bullshit if you've got an ugly heart.
I was asked yesterday what colour is your heart? Which made me stop and smile and think, not for long at all... and proceeded to ask other close people that question too.. what beautiful responses I recieved in return 💙
But... the conclusion is I know what my heart is made of...its a muscle and it is the reason I am alive...it does all the hard work and it never rests (thankfully).. but what it feels like, well that's just for me because no one can ever feel your feelings... but you may find that person to be close enough to feel your heart.
But muscle needs to be trained, conditioned and fed, physically and emotionally.
Be kind to your heart.. train it, treat it right, feed it well, because we want that beautiful muscle to keep on beating.
Embrace those moments you get to share with another beating heart ❤

I love this man. What always upset me was the way people treated him. I’m not going to get into anything past his looks right now. People to this day think Michael was anti-black and hated his African features. He said time and time again he loved being black and would never try to change it. His first girlfriend as well as his first love were black women. He just didn’t discriminate against women. Anyway, Michael was a gentle and timid soul. He was abused physically and emotionally. Yet, he continued to share his gifts with the world well after he was forced to. He was also very much a Virgo, being a strict perfectionist when it came to his art. Imagine being the world’s biggest star in history, flashing cameras everywhere, on the cover and centerfolds of magazines and featured on prime time television, while losing your pigmentation, something he was very proud of. Michael sported Afros well into his 20s, then elected for a jherri curl. Michael never shied away from his roots. His greatest inspirations was black— James Brown and Diana Ross (the love of his life). Imagine someone who was constantly told by his own father he was ugly, had a big nose— then losing his pigment in the process. It broke what little self-esteem he had. It’s clear in this picture where he lost pigment first and tried to conceal it with makeup. Before this time, did you see pics of him with makeup? No. He was hurt by being called effeminate and homosexual. During an interview, someone asked him was he gay. He told them to stop recording. The interviewer thought he was about to come out of the closet. Michael said “no.” The interviewer asked why would he want the mic cut off for that if he isn’t gay, which was wayy more frowned upon in the 80s than now. Michael said, “I have homosexual fans that would be hurt to hear that”. This man was so beautiful and all of his life, people tried to destroy him. They teased, mocked, and bullied him into seclusion, then accused him of being a pedophile. I said I wasn’t going anywhere beyond his looks, but I’m so upset thinking about how people will do anything to tear someone down, especially if they are well-loved and “better off”— cont. in comments
