The Boeing factory for wide body aircraft . Disneyland plus 12 acre of parking could fit in the Boeing factory or 75 football fields . That’s large . This mural panel is a small part of the doors the finished planes roll out of. #boeinglovers#aviationlovers#planes#aviationgeek#777
I know many of us may are having this misconception so I really want to brief about it and hope we may never make this mistake again.
First thing first, yes it may look similar to the weather radar reflections, but it’s actually terrain displays, which you can distinguish that at the left bottom corner with a blue word TERR.
The MOST IMPORTANT THING is that, please call it terrain radar no more😭!!! Neither Boeing nor Airbus has installed a radar that can scan the obstacles and give reflections, they aren’t bats. What the reality is that an onboard database which stored the terrain data in a computer and uses the location data to show you the corresponding terrain. You can regard it as your offline map on your mobile phone, won’t your phone scan the terrain ahead? So the plane will scan it neither. Can’t imagine the amount of energy emitted if there is really such a plane using a radar to scan the terrain. If you are clever enough, you will soon realize that in case your location is not accurate or the database hasn’t included a certain region, then no terrain will show or the terrain shown is inaccurate.
So according to company policy, if there is any problem with unreliable locations, outdated database, or not included in the database, then terrain display should be inhibited.
Hope you guys can understand now and if you prefer this kind of technical post, please follow my account for more😊. #terrain#aviationgeek#boeing#airbus#aviationgeek#misconception#aviationlovers
At the crack of dawn this morning I had my formation dollar ride and it was totally awesome. Despite every part of me telling me to get the hell away from the other airplane I had an absolute blast and can’t wait to do it again tomorrow! #foxtrotbravophotography
