SUPPORT | For a long time I always thought I was the sort of person who didn’t need help. I’ve always been very independent. My mum tells me that I refused her to make my school sandwiches when I was 4, wanting to make them myself! During school I never relied on anyone. I had a group of friends but I looked to myself for support. I never told my parents or family any struggles I was going through. I was just very inward. However over the years I’ve learnt that it’s really not healthy. I’m now so grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met, especially those I’ve become close with, all offering, as friends do, their support. I guess in the past I just assumed we had to fend for ourselves! I never knew that asking for help was an option. I thought it made me look weak! Last night I met up with our Baby Journey group. The boys went separately to a pub in Prestbury and us girls met at one of the group’s home nearby. It was so lovely to sit and chat with five women going through the exact same thing! We all offered our support to one another, answering each other’s concerns, giving reassurance. I know I’ll be glad of this little support group once baby arrives. So if you’re like me, stubborn or maybe too shy to ask for support when needed, please take this as it’s honestly worth it. Even the strongest person needs their own little support group.
P.S - yes it’s unrelated by isn’t Piazza San Marco beautiful? I was lucky to get a pic when there weren’t many people - and this is in August! #piazzasanmarco#support
