Today I just needed a break from the norm. I didn’t want to worry about clean lines, looking at references, worry about marketing, branding, how can I get better, etc...I just wanted to play music and slap paint around. Not taking a second to think or doubt what the brush was doing. Just listen to music and see what ideas flow out my hands. It was a pretty amazing experience. I actually felt my mood change from overthinking things, to dancing while I added color on top of color. 5 hours later...we have this piece.
“Love Rises Over Hate”
I found something else I sorta want to hang in our master bath. I may wanna sell this piece 🤔 Would anyone want to purchase?
299$ I’m thinking. DM here or on my art page @humblehighyyc if anyone’s interested. If not, she’s meant to be with me every night in the tub 🛁 😁

Ai Weiwei is currently exhibiting at 3 locations across LA. The “Sunflower Seeds” is featured at @marcianoartfoundation. The handmade & hand painted true-to-life tiny sculptures are displayed across 4000 square-foot along with 2 other amazing installations by #aiweiwei in their designated space. .
The installation is a reflection on society, politics & economy in China. On one hand, it touches on how China caters to western #globalization , #massproduction & #consumerism ; yet #SunflowerSeeds employed over 1600 Chinese artisans took its 2 1/2 years to create. The 18 step process reveals how each seed is nuanced, they are the same yet unique in their own right. .
Initially installed at @tate 8+ years ago, visitors were welcomed to walk and even lay on the installation. I wish I had that opportunity to engage with them as intimately. But the chance to experience this installation in person is still definitely worth the while!
