“I need a break from all the noise. I want to breathe clean air and swim in clean water. I want to sit on the porch of an old cabin and listen to the stillness. I want to be out where things are simple and every breath is a reminder that there is beauty and magic left in the world”
Sisters make the best trail buddies! 👩❤️👩 .
@paperfaced has been such a trooper this summer. She doesn’t lose hope when I say “we’re almost there” 100 times and doesn’t actually follow through when she says “I’ll kill you if this is a false summit.” We’re hitting the trails again on Monday, but this time on mountain bikes! You can be sure we’ll come back full of funny stories! ⛰ 🚵🏼♀️🚵🏼♂️
Never before had I seen a place like this. The colors alone - the deep ceruleans, the copper oranges, the emphatic greens, the stark grays - were a palette conjured in dreams. But, that mixed with about a million waterfalls shooting from the rocks and the overpowering current of the river below, was a once in a lifetime feast for the eyes.
Somewhere in Iceland
The smoke somewhat cleared away and at least you can see the mountains as of right now. Still a little hazy but, I’ll take it!
Just got stickers in of Wedge Sunset 🏔☀️💜not on the website yet, but you can DM me or purchase them locally 🙌🏽
Before hiking somewhere for the first time I tend to go into major research mode. Skimming through peoples reviews about the trail, photos, and terrain. Preparing myself in the best way I can. While this is an imperative approach, over time I have learned to not get so caught up in other people’s past experiences, where I
expect similar outcomes at my attempt. Embracing the natural progression along a trail brings forth lessons and personal growth, or just one hell of a beautiful mountain view.

Hey guys! I know I haven’t posted on here in a while. It isn’t because I haven’t been adventuring, I have just been doing life so I kind of forgot about this account. 😋
I have made a commitment to posting more on this account of all the fun mountain stuff I am up to!
With all the smoke, heat, and craziness of summer, I thought I would throwback to this one time we found a pre-made jump out in south bowl. It was super fun hitting the jump up above the clouds. ☁️ ⛰
Sometimes after you reach the summit, getting back down is just as daunting. We wanted to hang out on top of South Howser for a bit, but the hazy purple light brought a sense of urgency to our descent. A few stuck ropes were resolved fairly quickly and we touched back down to snow just after dark. With a collective sigh of relief, we trudged back to our bivy by headlamp. 📷: @lizzyvanpatten
It takes only the spark from one single warm soul, to set on fire the cold cosmos like a phoenix. And in our humility, may we see not only how small we can feel in our own power alone, but how we are truly everything, when we are together. That we may treat our fellow earthlings with love and with kindness. And in our disagreements may we understand that our different experiences have given us different realities, and that we are entitled to different opinions and different truths, different beliefs and ways of life. But also that we have much more in common than we could ever have in opposition. May we remember and see that we have been driven to focus on our differences, and that we are the only ones who can change the narrative of our own days story. Our differences should be recognized, cherished and celebrated. Our differences should help us all come to understand culture and it’s beauty. They should help us care to understand more deeply, with more compassion. And regarding the social climate of today, do we honestly feel it serves us best to demand punishments for differences in opinion, which are simply based on our very own differences in experience. And this thought is never to excuse wrongful doing or those who are cruel and do harm. When we violate others freedoms and liberties, this is the very line that needs to be drawn. But if we could stop for a moment, the casting of the stones. If we could hold our own selves to the same standards, accountability and expectations that we hold everyone else to, OH JOY what a world it would be. 🙏 // #AndShesDopeToo // 📸 @Jamesjcruz // #WomenWhoLead#ASDT#WomenWhoExplore#OutdoorWomen#GOATworthy
Our hearts are with Yosemite & the rest of California these days, as humans, wildlife, and the rest of the environment works to adapt to rising temperatures and some of the biggest fires the state has ever seen. Fire, as a general rule, is a natural part of a healthy ecosystem, but human intervention and long-term fire suppression has created a situation where mega fires destroy everything in their path, rather than simply clear underbrush and promote healthy growth. It’s so important to remember that although we are a small part of a complex system, we have the power to make big changes, for better or for worse.
One of the best pieces of news I’ve read about the fires so far? After closing Yosemite to humans, rangers noted that the wildlife roamed more freely around the park. They even spotted bears feasting on the apple trees in Curry Village! So welcome back to Yosemite this week, but remember: we’re not alone out here, humans, and we’re definitely not the most important. Look around; be mindful; be amazed.
Checking out the damage / forest renewal from the Kenow wildfires.... hard to even imagine this whole valley on fire. Thanks to the firefighters for protecting our parks then- and again now. 🙏
I led some pretty rad @girlswhohikeofficial ladies to Ice House Canyon Trail up to the saddle this past Sunday. It’s always super rad for me to see a group of strangers come together and have loads of fun! What a great community ✨
The first thing I noticed about this picture is that I have a bald spot. It could be because my hair is parted and soaking wet from the rain. It could also be that I’ve been running around for God knows how long with a bald spot and no one bothered to tell me. It comes down to maybe everything is fine or maybe I have no real friends AND female pattern baldness. So yeah, that’s what I’m dealing with today... probably should have just put some John Muir quote here but it’s too late for that now.
“You are only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.”
//Robin Williams// I found this quote most appropriate. Today I am happy, enthused, determined and a ball of energy! That little spark of madness is magic, just like this sunrise I experienced in Mammoth🙌🏻 Do what makes YOU happy! Pursue your dreams, they’re not for anyone else✨ I wanna know, what’s your dream?! No horsing around on this rock (get it) I honestly have no fear of heights in any sense. I don't know if that makes me fearless or stupid. Are you scared of heights? If not what's the highest point you've been to?
The smoky outdoors have been keeping me inside (dry eyes and headaches are a happening) leaving me to day dream about all the outside things. Like the day we had a wonderful plan to swim in a mountain lake...
See my excited face to go for a “refreshing” swim? Now swipe right for the “uh that’s really cold” face 😅☃️ #canadianthings
want to know what will rob your life
and tie your dreams into a neat, safe, beige parcel?
abandoning yourself to a vocabulary that
aimlessly pronounces lifeless banter:
“when i finally get...”
“once i’ve bought...”
“once we’ve saved...”
boring, wearisome words.
tirelessly waiting for better days
will rob your better days called “now”.
