Traveled around the world by #poutine , thanks to the @aircanada pop-up restaurant in #DupontCircle ! What a creative way to market what #AirCanada has to offer. Pop-ups seem far and inbetween in DC, so I was really interested in what an airline was going to do with one!
Was expecting huge lines, but the 30ish minute wait today, a holiday at that, was not bad. By 3:30pm when we left, the line no longer wrapped along the wall outside.
As for the poutine, @doanphonics and I had a feast. The poutines were named after various cities Air Canada flew to, which I thought was an excellent way for guests to remember their destinations. We chose Shanghai, Rome, Dubai, Mumbai, and Paris, and yes, I listed that based on my preference. Fries by themselves were so-so, and it felt like some poutines had more heftier portions than the other. Beer was available but with ONLY ONE CANADIAN BEER. That was a missed opportunity I thought, but seeing so many different kinds of Japanese beer was cool, too.
For a pop-up, I thought customer service was great. Everyone working there moved fast but acknowledged you. It was efficient and orderly. Definitely great in representing that Canadian hospitality.
Thinking about how Canada House was all the rage at the Pyeongchang Olympics earlier this year, I'm starting to think Canadians really got it going for throwing great pop-ups. Now, time to check for Air Canada flights to Montreal next year! #AirCanadaFliesThere#contest#washingtondc#맛#eat#dceats#fomodc#eatdc
When I first heard about @away, I was quite skeptical. It sounded good on paper but is it really worth the $300+ price tag? It wasn’t until I started watching @karaandnate’s vlogs (and seeing it in action) did my opinion change. So, I decided to buy “The Bigger Carry-On”. They have a 100 day return policy and with trips planned for New York and Japan, it was the perfect opportunity to test it. 🛫
Weighing in at 3.5kg, this carry-on features a strong polycarbonate shell with an ejectable 10,000 mAh battery, a TSA-approved lock, an interior compression system, and 4 360° Hinomoto wheels. My first impression was “wow”! To be able to pack all that into a luggage and yet weigh less than my Samsonite is quite impressive. The ejectable battery is a nice addition - especially for travelling - featuring two USB-A ports for your convenience. The interior is spacious, with lots of room for your clothes and essentials. It also comes with a laundry bag for your dirty clothes. On my Japan trip, I was able to fit two weeks’ worth of clothes + 2 bags + some souvenirs with no problem! This was all thanks to their interior compression system which pushes out air from your clothes, leaving you with more space to pack things (or just enough to zip it). It has a very sleek profile, and I can tell a lot of thought was put into it. I’m very satisfied with my purchase and will probably use this as my go-to carry-on going forward.
Side note: yes it is a little bigger than the carry-on restrictions imposed by most airlines, however, the difference is negligible. It may matter if you’re flying with ULCCs like Swoop or Frontier, but for the most part, you’ll be fine. If the plane is small, they’ll probably just ask you to gate check it (which is free). I flew with @aircanada to New York on an #embraer and had no issues.
Eating poutine and drinking some Molson’s on a ski lift while singing along to You and I by @celinedion @aircanada where’s my floating plane window that the commercials in 2005 promised! Need to get back to Canada and get me some timmies ASAP #AirCanadaFliesThere#contest
Some people like sexy girls in bikinis on their Instagram. I think planes are sexy. This is the Air Canada A330-300 that I flew Frankfurt - Montreal. All was fine until we flew over the north coast of the St. Lawrence east of Quebec city - hit some bad turbulence and the plane did a bump up while rolling about 30 degrees. There were a few screams. But we landed OK. Few days in Montreal before going to Mexico for a few weeks.

It’s been the longest week. Of. My. Life.
Thankful for the amazing hospital and the play room staff who has kept Maddox so entertained. They made so many crafts this week, today she made a baby doll wearing a cast😭❤️ Air canada pilots also stopped in today and gave Maddox a certificate and metal. She steals the heart of everybody around her and they can not get over how much she talks (me either). She is certainly a social butterfly. 🦋

We never really see much of their work but sometimes when taxiing you can really see the procedures that are made on the ground before such a big airplane can fly✈️ Amazing. WHEN WAS YOU LAST FLIGHT?
