@jessievargas_ (28-2-2, 10 KOs) had to settle with another draw, this time against Puerto Rican @thomasdulorme (24-3-1, 16 KOs).
Both fighters exchanged knockdowns. Dulorme overcame the knockdown in the 10th round and Vargas was knockdown with 10 seconds left in the 12th round.
The knockdown of Dulorme on the scorecards of judges Mike Fitzgerald and Mike Ross, both of whom scored their very competitive encounter a draw (113-113). Fitzgerald and Ross overruled judge Rey Danseco, who scored the action 115-111 for Vargas, and produced a majority draw Saturday night at the @wintrustarena in #Chicago .
At its annual convention earlier in the week in Kiev, Ukraine, the @wbcboxing stripped @benavidez300 of its super middleweight world title because he recently tested positive for cocaine in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association random drug test as part of the #WBC ’s Clean Boxing Program. In September 2017 Benavidez became the youngest fighter in 168-pound division history to win a world title when he claimed the vacant belt by split decision against Ronald Gavril, who he beat far easier in their February rematch, Benavidez’s only defense. Benavidez (20-0, 17 KOs), 21, of Phoenix, was given the title of “champion in recess” by the WBC and can fight for the title as soon as he is eligible to fight again. The organization ordered former titlist @anthonydirrell (32-1-1, 24 KOs), 33, of Flint, Michigan, who was supposed to fight Benavidez in a mandatory fight this fall, to face @avniyildirim (21-1, 12 KOs), 27, of Turkey, for the vacant belt.

HBO DROPS BOXING
“Going forward in 2019, we will be pivoting away from programming live boxing on HBO. As always, we will remain open to looking at events that fit our programming mix. This could include boxing, just not for the foreseeable future.
We're deeply indebted to the many courageous fighters whose careers we were privileged to cover.”- @hbo
So after 45 years #HBO is removing boxing from its network. With @showtime expanding their brand, @premierboxing which has over 100 stable fighters and signed to a multi year deal with @foxtv and #Showtimes . @matchroomboxing who has also arrived with new streaming service #DAZN , and nearly every boxer is his stable, including several that were featured on HBO will be exclusively featured on the network. And finally @trboxing leaving the network for an exclusive long term deal with @espn. HBO thought it was in their best interest to remove Boxing from their network. @hbosports Executive Vice President Oerer Nelson said “Our audience research informs us that boxing is no longer a determinant factor for subscribing to HBO.”
But on the bright side I get to remove #HBO and save some money.
@itsvortiz has been removed from that main event by @premierboxing, the organization run by #AlHaymon , a day after Ortiz was charged with three felony accounts of sexual assault, including forcible rape. Ortiz, a former WBC welterweight champion, turned himself in to authorities in Ventura County, California, on Tuesday, a day after those three charges were filed.
Ventura County Superior Court records indicate the incident allegedly occurred March 19 at a residence in Oxnard, California. Ortiz’s bail was set at $100,000.
If all these allegations are true. I’m not sure how Ortiz can bounce back after this. His boxing career and acting career could potentially go down the drain.
Just days before his scheduled fight with #JohnMolinaJr @itsvortiz is charged with multiple counts of sexual assault. Just before 3 pm he turned himself in to local authorities.
Ventura County Superior Court records show a violation date for the sexual assault charges of March 19 and listed the Oxnard Police Department as the investigating agency. According to Oxnard police, the investigation into Ortiz was launched just before 1 p.m. on that date when a female victim contacted police regarding a sexual assault.
The Oxnard police family protection unit responded to the incident, officials said.
Ortiz was identified as a suspect on the date of the incident, said Oxnard police Cmdr. Sharon Giles.
According court records, Ortiz is eligible for state prison.
Ortiz's bail was set at $100,000.
#WBC Super Middleweight Champion @benavidez300 came up positive for cocaine in connection to a random drug test administered by VADA [Voluntary Anti-Doping Association] on August 27th.
The random test was given to Benavidez as part of his enrollment in the World Boxing Council's Clean Boxing Program.
At the moment, Benavidez has not signed a contract to fight in the coming months - which means his punishment will be limited to an undetermined fine from the WBC.
Benavidez send an apologized on his IG.
“I would like to sincerely apologize to the wbc for my actions I am embarrassed to have this happen and to all my fans that I lost the respect of I know a lot of people won’t see me the same but I am young and it was a mistake on my behalf. But to the people that are by my side and showing support I promise I will come back stronger and make it all up to you. I will still continue to put my all into my training and into my fights, once again I’m sorry to your all”- @benavidez300
