I spent the afternoon at Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre meeting the owner, Leanne and hearing how the club she set up 2 years ago is growing. .
The girls who joined now love hanging out there, mucking out, grooming and of course riding the ponies. Seeing all this for myself I am reminded that being active isn’t just about doing exercise, it’s about enjoying what you do, making lifelong connections and friendships and it’s moving more in your day as you do what you love. .
I know I’ve spent a few weeks sitting at my desk writing a funding bids. But today I see how that effort is worth it when projects like this thrive. .

Big smiles as we lined up for the supper run at the boys school last night. It’s an annual family event for us. My face is mostly relief at actually making it! I’d been working in Manchester and due to the storms there were no trains back to Lancaster; everything terminated at Preston. I received the kindness of strangers as a lady, also trying to get to Lancaster arranged for her husband to come and pick us up and drive us up the M6. They even went out of their way to take me to my car in town which contained the entire family’s running kit. It was a mad dash but we made it to the start ... just ... and we made it to the finish 4 miles later too! 🙌🙌🙌🙌to my son. 1st under 14 back 😊#kindnessofstrangers #gratitude #supperrun #activefamily #activewomen #activeeveryday

We were reminiscing about the endless runs around the South Downs we used to do at the weekends, just taking a map and heading off into the hills. Not so much with the baby and now with the second badger on the way but we still get out and enjoy the competitiveness of each other’s personalities!!!! Unilateral training is a great tool to use to mix up your routine, alleviate any muscle imbalances, and also helps work on your balance and stabilization. 
Here’s a great shoulder routine that implements this idea and will get you those amazing sculpted shoulders you’ve always wanted. It hits all three heads of the deltoid and creates an amazing pump!
1️⃣ Shoulder Raises- 15 reps each arm x 3 sets (30 sec. break between sets)
2️⃣ Upright Rows- 15 reps each arm x 3 sets (30 sec. break between sets)
3️⃣ Front Raises- 15 reps each arm x 3 sets (30 sec. break between sets)
4️⃣ Lateral Raises- 15 reps each arm x 3 sets (30 sec. break between sets)
5️⃣ Rear Delt Raises- 15 reps each arm x 3 sets (30 sec. break between sets)

I'm not working out like I used to, but I'm still lifting 3-4 times a week, getting some cardio in, and sometimes make it to BJJ. If you're active, stay active, if you're not active, get active! Figure out a way to get moving.

Inactivity is one of the worst things we could put our bodies through. If you can breathe you can train. You can dance you can climb, you can walk, run, swim, bike, hula hoop, jump rope, you CAN. So what are you waiting for? Try something new.

Monday morning run with the hubs is done.  Been struggling to get my cardiorespiratory aspects back in line and feeling comfortable.  Because of the rain and a traveling running buddy, my last 2 short runs were on the treadmill - I ran straight through without intervals.  My last long run was also on the treadmill running straight through except for short walking intervals for fuel and hydration.  I could tell a huge difference in my breathing on our run this morning, my pace was a bit better, and we had good negative splits! #happyme #wegotgoals #activeeveryday #marathontraining
