Well this weather is just delightful 🙄🙈 we have Lily's school Christmas fair this afternoon but I'm dreading it in this weather! .
Theo has gone down for a nap and I really ought to be doing a bit of housework but instead I'm sitting down with a cup of coffee and brainstorming ideas for the blog and writing and life in general 👌
Pitter, patter... Louie loves watching the rain, so when the heavens open I often sit him by the patio doors so he can watch it fall. It’s so nice to just sit and embrace it all sometimes.
It’s good to be bored. I think we’re all guilty of wondering if we are doing enough, or are we over stimulating them?
If your baby isn’t crying or demanding attention in some way, they most likely are busy taking the world in and learning new things. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. We are their favourite resource, but we need to recharge too!
One of the most magical times of the year. This year she has multiplied my Christmas spirit by a gazillion because she is so excited. When she saw Santa sitting in his chair a little oh wow escaped her lips and then she proceeded to tell him her life story before giving him a cuddle. 😍
If you're in #Dorset then pop to @sealifeweymouth to visit Santa. He's lovely! #review
Today I headed to Bath with my cousin, I adore Bath but had never been at Christmas. We visited the Christmas Markets and it was brilliant, I’ve come home with a bag full of fudge and chocolate 😆 We also went ice skating and when we checked in, the man said we would probably have the rink to ourselves. How wrong was he, a school trip turned up 😐 As the teachers stood on the rink side, the kids went crazy on the ice!! Not quite the child free skating we were hoping for 😂 Of course we ate all the food at the Christmas Market and I tried some Chocolate Wine 😋 Today has been a lovely day, not your average Thursday, but most definitely just what I needed! I even brought my last Christmas present, so that’s me all done!
So today I may well have said ‘for fuck sake’ approximately 87 times under my breath 😬. I was the one in the supermarket with the 4 year old having a breakdown because his brother had scanned more than him through the checkout.
I was the one with the 5 year old and 4 year old arguing over the shortest way home (it was neither of them and it was pissing down with rain🙄)
I was the one pushing a pram, carrying the shopping and trying to push the 4 year old home on his scooter because he was ‘toooo tired’ to scoot (oh and did I mention the rain 😬) It was us with the baby that woke at 3am and decided sleep was overrated for the rest of the night.... who needs sleep anyway 🤷🏻♀️ and wasn’t keen on it for the rest of the day either. Which probably was the main cause to all three points above ☝🏻
It was the night Daddy was late home from work (only half an hour but on days like today that could have been 10 hours) so I had to wear a colicky baby who decided to take every pain out on my hair and was letting out the smelliest of farts I could have done with a gas mask😫 while trying to cook tea and get them bathed (which ended with a slight flood )and ready for bed.
But I have managed one whole hot drink #smallwins , everyone is in bed ,bathed, fed, homework done and finally happy 🙌🏻
But yes I would bloody love to be in a hot tub @forestholidays (I love my mug!) or on a beach somewhere hot 🙏🏻but I would take just a trip on my own to the supermarket or perhaps even just a wee in peace because you know that’s practically the same 🤷🏻♀️
I’m feeling a bit out of sorts this week. I’m tired, feeling overwhelmed with everything that’s going on. Christmas is such a busy time and whilst it’s one of my favourite times of the year, there is lots going on. I have to remember to take time out for me and relax. I used to read so much and now I read before bed, depending how tired I am, I may only manage 1 page 😆 But I’m trying to make more time to take time for me, as I’m a better person when I do!

I've just got back from a networking mum social event this morning, it was great to take Robyn with me 😍
It was lovely meeting other professional mum's working independently and getting away from the corporate world and working for others... these are women who are ex-teachers, PA's and other fields, some of whom where made redundant .
I work with a variety of people, all who have different backgrounds and different skills... this is one of the best things about such an equal opportunity like what we offer with Forever .
Before I crack on with a bit of work while Robyn naps, I'm chilling out with a large cuppa!
In the run up to Christmas its a busy time. I’m busy getting all my work done and scheduled over the Christmas holidays. With the girls off school for 2 weeks I need to get myself organised and prepared.
It means busy days working, and I always find about an hour before its time to pick them up I need a pick me up. To make me more productive in that last hour. I need every minute, of every day at the moment.
I’ve always loved the Graze range, with the lemon flapjacks my favourite. But I think there is a new favourite in town, as I had to try the new oat millionaires and I love the Raspberry & Dark Cacao one. Its definitely giving me a push to be more productive in that final hour! @grazedotcom #ad#grazesnacks
That moment Glitterella the Elf tells you to knock on the door and see if you can see Santa... She could and there was a gasp and wow moment. As a parent of a 3 year old, this year I feel like I'm the child all over again and am feeling all the excitement and magic of the season. Do you find that?
Just taking a second to add a few more songs to play @spotify - come across this beauty by: @philngoodmusic @ingibauer & the most beautiful @officialtlopez 😍 have a listen people!!! Also available on @applemusic xo⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is always a good idea to have 5 minutes to yourself & that's what I'm doing right now. xo
Oh hello to bathing in the middle of the day, feeling like it’s the middle of the night. This has been a long time coming! (No, ofcourse I’ve showered, I’m not that rank despite sometimes looking it) I miss baths. Long, hot, uninterrupted baths. 🛀🏽 sometimes with 🍷 (oh god no wine right now 🤮) I’m officially washing away the sick folks! Yaaas! Feeling loads better today - hurrah. Now I’m locking this door and I’m not coming out for atleast 40-60 minutes. I’m so shit at getting me time. So shit. So I’ve decided (just now) that each day on the run up to Christmas I’m going to do something each day for me, and I’ll post it on here in a kind of #selfcareadvent 🙌🏻, as seen as I didn’t get an advent calendar 😔 What do you guys do to have time to de stress or get away from parenting? How do you relax and get some you time? Tell me tell me....#selfcareadvent#bathtime#metime#gettingbetter#onthemend#selfcare#5minutespeace#debug#theidentitiesofme#justme#squeekyclean
The gasp and oh wow as she walked through the door were enough but the fact she kept saying thank you and getting excited all over again were awesome and shockingly it did not get played with at bedtime or this morning. The giant pink bow on her head was found and rather begrudgingly bought when she was choosing a decoration for her tree but hey it makes her happy and that's what Christmas is all about. I grabbed a quick photo of the whole thing and it wasn't until later I had a look and this was the photo and it just made me smile.
Happy 1st December everyone! ✨
Anyone else play hide and seek whilst the bath is running but actually you just send the kids to hide whilst you sit and stare into oblivion for a couple of minutes whilst shouting “Hmm where could they be” and making rustling noises? No? Just me? Ok then!
Oh my goodness what a nightmare teething babies are 🙈 We are having an interesting week, Eddie will switch up his mood every 2 minutes and go from screaming to laughing! Melty sticks are the only answer #5minutespeace#teething
Is this you or nah? 5 ways to add 5 minutes of meditation to your day. 👇🏽
In the your morning shower. Steam up and slow down your thoughts. Light a candle. Keep the lights low or stick to natural light.
On your subway commute. Find a soft focus, put in your earbuds, and set a 5 minute timer.
In the parking lot before you drive home. Meditate in your car for 5 minutes.
When you get home from work make meditation the first thing that you do.
Before bed take 5 minutes to sit or lay silently before dozing off.
I ummed and ahhhed about sharing this picture as let's face it.... Its not the most flattering of me. However, we are both happy and having a great time and that's what counts. So here it is... Alyssa and I riding on a lions back at @longleatofficial and it was a good day
And here’s what the other Too Tired Teacher is up to tonight. I am living the book ‘Five Minutes’ Peace’. Literally. Tried to sneak off for a bath once my husband got home to enjoy some Neal’s Yard loveliness, but ended up with a bathroom full of my family instead. We have practised the House Song, negotiated gymnastics lessons and discussed NASA’s new robot on Mars amongst other things. At least we have two loos, so when my 4 year old declared she needed a poo, I got out of that one! And relax ...
Current situation: I won’t lie, I’m eating a piece of dark chocolate while locked in the bathroom.
Yep. Only super classy stuff going on over here today 😂.
The kids and I have been sick, and we had company last week. Alone time has been scarce. This introvert needs 5 minutes of peace to make it until I can spend some uninterrupted time in prayer and the Word during nap time. almost there!
Can you relate? I think all moms have had a child attempt to claw under the bathroom door while calling “ma, mama, mother, mummy, mum, MOM!”
It’s part of this thing we call mom life. The inability to go to the bathroom, shower or lock the door and eat our stack of chocolate in peace is part of our daily job description.
Sometimes it’s funny. Sometimes it’s discouraging. I’m thankful that on this day, I find it rather funny. And I can laugh at the ridiculousness of me eating chocolate in the bathroom alone. Good grief, weirdo!
Laughing together helps us remember we aren’t the only one experiencing these things.
Confession time. Tell us where you go to sneak a few minutes alone so we can laugh together 👇
Mummy what are all the leaves doing on the floor? Someone needs to pick them up?!
Its called Autumn darling and good luck with that one.
We made it to dance class today AND a play date where this one actually ate something so hopefully we're turning a corner
