#50FactsAboutMe#50thAnniversary#50years - 33 of 50 MessiahMech.com: Messiah sponsored a preschool ministry from 9/4/1995 through 8/26/2016. Pastor Stephen Moose was the first headmaster. The school eventually closed due to economic pressures from more competition in our area and the changing needs of our local community. (Luther Memorial, the oldest parochial school in Richmond, closed the same year.) Until that time, Messiah Lutheran School offered varied programs: infant care, day care, preschool, after school care, and summer programs. In later years, the school helped sponsor our Vacation Bible School. MLS always tried to offer the highest quality care at the lowest prices; opening doors to education for all, especially some of our neighbors with lower incomes. Great night celebrating Gymnastics Ontario’s 50th anniversary and the accomplishments of so many involved in the sport.
So honoured to have received the first ever Cameron Namek Coach Excellence Award in memory of Cameron who was an inspiration and role model for the next generation of gymnasts. The award celebrates how the sport can nurture excellence as a coach, athlete and student.
Thanks to Ashley and Jess for nominating me and to Cameron’s mother and girlfriend who were there to present the award.
Tonight I am on the bus to home. Tomorrow we drive to PG to hop on a plane to Vancouver for Avery’s one month check-up. I only speak for me when I say that I am a little on edge about these scans. I know they will more than likely show that he still has no evidence of disease.
Tomorrow we also look forward to re-uniting with friends on the journey still. I know there will be smiles and laughter and I look forward to that.
On Wednesday we celebrate my mom (Ellen Togyi, she’s on Facebook 😊) and dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. I also celebrate my 47th birthday on the same day. We will come together and celebrate and share a moment in honour of my old brother Imre. He is very missed.
Being home on my last time off was one of joy. I woke up Wednesday morning and I didn’t have to pack, I didn’t have to check road conditions and I had Avery cuddles.
I am rambling but I’m allowed to. Tonight I am also thinking of two other families that got to go home; The Ady’s from Trail and the Mastroianni’s from Prince Rupert. We are so glad you’re home and we are very much happy to miss you at Rmh when we get there. Enjoy and relax. You deserve it.
With Rhonda, Ellen, Gina, Mark, Brigette.
