🌿NEW BRAND: FIRST IMPRESSIONS🌿
So, the brand @theustraa is an Indian brand . It's the sister brand of Happily Unmarried , which I love. All their products are drugstore price n Sulphate n Paraben free. Ustraa is a brand for men but I would say ladies can use it too. I use their lip balm often.
🌿Ustraa Face wash with Pine Bark n Peppermint for dry to normal skin: It claims that: Pine Bark and Peppermint cleanses your skin throughly without leaving it dry and keep it feeling fresh and cool all day long ". Ok so I dint actually place an order for this, they sent it to me by mistake instead for my HU facewash n I was feeling adventurous so I thought why not give this a try. So, it is a soft gel. I get no post wash dryness after using this . But, it a has an uber strong mint scent. There is a cooling sensation when you put it on your face and which is normal but then sensation remains for like 5 minutes even after you have rinse it off. I appreciate their intention of making people feel fresh but our faces are not supposed to feel that minty fresh. I would love the sensory experience of this in a shampoo or bodywash but not face wash guys. I think this could have been say better if they took the menthol n strong mint fragrance out of it.
🌱Ustraa Anti- Dandruff Shampoos with Ginger and Tea tree: I appreciate the subtle medicinal scent of this product which mostly smells like tea tree oil. It not very silicony like most drugstore shampoos. My scalp has been going through issues as my hair is now longer and when I go to gym I keep it in a tight bun for a couple of hours. So like a puddle of sweat on my scalp for a couple of hours. Though it's too early to say if it is making my scalp better, I can honestly say that my scalp feels cleaner n less irritated in between washes. Like I can go a day without hairwash n without feeling eeky. However, using a conditioner is must with if as it is not silicony n hence doesn't give hair that detangled slip.
First Impressions! Natural Correctives kindly sent me this to review ☺️ I’m always a little nervous to try new lotions and creams because of my acne, so I spot tested it for two nights before applying it to my full face. Last night was her maiden voyage, and so far so good. The consistency is really pleasant to apply and in the morning my skin felt nice and hydrated. It will likely be hard for me to comment on the retinol-ness of this since I already use differin gel, but I’ll keep you guys posted on how it interacts with my blemish prone skin👌 Have any of you tried this line before? I’m curious about your experiences 👀
My skin is being what I (originally from Nottingham) can only describe as "mardy" at the moment. Tight, dry, red. Texture like an old sack. I am frantically flexing my routine to try and get some moisture back in without giving myself a faceful of spots. This is what is helping so far...
🎃 Adding an oil into my routine. I'm not a huge fan of how facial oils feel on my skin, so I've been mixing a few drops of marula oil into my regular moisturiser at night. Instant improvement.
🎃 An extra layer of hyaluronic acid. There's not always time for this but when I'm using actives in my pm routine I'm trying my best to do mist+HA twice (normally one before and one after vitamin c). Always makes a difference when I manage it.
🎃 Keeping the water temperature down when cleansing. As the mornings and evenings get colder I've noticed I've started to crank the water temperature for lovely comforting warmth on my face. Must resist! Hot water can dilate blood vessels and increase skin redness (major issue for me). My skin is never happy with a hot water cleanse. Boring as it is, I need to keep it cool/tepid.
🎃 Moisturising masks/comforting masks on particularly dry days. I love this @renskincare Comforting Rescue Mask. (pictured) and the @Kiehls Ultra Facial masque, but if all else fails mixing @larocheposay Cicaplast, @weledauk Skin Food and a few drops of marula oil to DIY it.
Got any more super-hydration tips for me? Please share! My skin begs you...

My thoughts on NOW Moroccan red clay powder
Before trying this, I read some reviews on it and I can only say I didn’t find many that were negative. So, I had super high expectations because of the popularity of this mask.
I am a little restrictive in my use of clay masks, due to that they often tend to make my skin really dry. But nowadays when I use a clay mask (depending on how dry my skin is) I add a few drops of facial oil inside the mix and my skin manage the clay mask much better.
The NOW Moroccan red clay powder lasts forever, you only need a tiny amount and for the prize you pay it is amazing.
When mixing it the instructions differs, at Iherb it says 1 tablespoon of powder and 1 teaspoon of water, and on NOW web page it says 50/50. I usually don’t measure, I mix and let the magic happen. But I would recommend starting with 1 tablespoon of powder and then go from there. You can always add more powder or water if needed.
I prefer applying the NOW Moroccan red clay powder mask with a brush. Leaving it on for about 15 minutes. The mask doesn’t have to dry down until you remove it. Just rinse it off after 15-20 minutes and the mask has done what it is supposed to.
I remember reading a review that someone said that it colored their skin, I have never seen that happen to me though. But be sure to rinse until the mask is completely gone.
It does smell, clay, that’s it. there is nothing more added to the product so I am really happy about that.
After washing my face my skin feels really nice and clean. I do feel some dryness but I apply the rest of my routine after using and the dryness doesn’t last. .
My thoughts on Garnier Respons Argan Oil & Almond Cream and Marvellous Nectar hair treatment⠀
A couple of years ago I decided to cut my hair short. I live with chronic pain and have a huge issue with my hair when keeping it long. I often just ended up putting it in a pony tail, since I simply couldn’t use my arms for the amount of time it took to style it. Sometimes I had huge problems just washing it.⠀
Today I have a pixie cut and I am really happy that I at least can manage to style my hair. And I have no problems with washing it on my own either.⠀
My hair is typical Scandinavian hair, I have very fine soft hair.⠀
Since I have a pixie cut I don’t have many problems with my hair being tangled or damaged (since I cut it very often). But I do have dry hair so I love to use treatments from now and then. I am not a regular treatment user though. But I do use them when I feel that my hair is getting dry.⠀
The smell of Garnier Respons Argan Oil & Almond Cream is really strong and sweet and it is a little too strong for my likings. The smell of Marvellous Nectar hair treatment is actually stronger and I do prefer the smell of the Argon version instead⠀
I wash my hair about 2 times a week and I really don’t need to wash it more, sometimes actually only once a week. I do use wax and other styling products in my hair, but I usually don’t have the problem with my hair being oily.⠀ After using these my hair feels really nice and smooth. I do feel that both are nice treatments to use on a regular basis. but I do prefer the Argan version for my hair ⠀
🍡 Why yes, that is a Japanese mayonnaise bottle as a prop because you would be correct in thinking I bought these products due to the resemblance.
🍡 Did I care if they were good products? Actually, yes, I'm not totally crazy, I did my research, and also they were soooo cheap! In Japan I mean, like, $13 cheap!!!!
🍡 Anyway, I was refusing to finish the cleanser because I didn't buy a backup, typical me, but it was approaching the one year mark and this is just silly and hoarder-y, so I finished it, and here are my thoughts.
🍡 #Mochitto Mochi Mochi Awadate Irazu Face Wash without Bubbling #skincarereview .
🍡 This is a low pH (5.5) cleanser with great ingredients including (oryza sativa) rice bran extract, rice bran oil, rice ferment filtrate (sake), soluble collagen, hydrolysed elastin, ceramide 2, arginine, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate + more.
🍡 So this is a hydrating, moisturising, brightening, gentle, repairing cleanser, perfect for compromised skin barriers and dry, sensitive skin.
🍡 It has a clear gel-serum texture that turns into a creamy lather, with a few very weak bubbles.
🍡 It really is super gentle, not stripping or drying at all. It won't remove makeup or sunscreen so don't go there, it makes a great morning cleanse or second cleanse, there's no real smell, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially if my skin was being reactive or sensitive.
🍡 I haven't opened the face lotion (pump bottle) yet, but it has similar ingredients (but even more) and is supposed to be a milky texture, and because I won't be washing it away like the cleanser, I am expecting more of the goodness of all those ingredients, particularly the antioxidant rich rice extract/oil/sake to even out my skin tone, brighten, plump, soothe and hydrate!
The three skincare philosophies I live by:
1) #KeepItSimple - Over-complicating your routine with numerous steps, mists, essences, serums etc.can be a stressful challenge for your skin and potentially do more harm than good.
Establishing a simple, yet effective and stable skincare regimen will make all the difference (and should as a minimum consist of the three "need to use"-skincare products: sunscreen, moisturizer and a proper cleanser).
2) #OneSizeDoesntFitAll - We all have different skin that changes with age, hormonal fluctuations, with the seasons and numerous external factors (discussed later). So what works for someone with oily, acne-prone skin won't necessarily work for someone with dry, reactive skin and vice versa. Choose your skincare product according to your skin's current needs.
3) #1empty1newbie - Back in 2016 my dear friend Márcia @skinminimalist introduced this hastag and skincare philosophy to the skincare community: "Avoid buying a new product before finishing an equivalent one". Shuffling between five different moisturizers, three retinoids etc. leads to inconsistent routines, product waist, with no possibility to evaluate then potential benefits of the products you're using. Amen (!) and thank you, Márcia, for reminding us that less IS more and our skin and piggy bank will benefit from it!
What skincare philosophy(ies) do you live by?
**Kora Organics turmeric Mask**
I know there are ppl out there who already do DIY turmeric mask, even I have tried. So what’s special about this one from #koraorganics ? I guess it contains papaya enzyme and aspen bark that may not be typical DIY ingredients. Also, all KO products are ‘energised’ by rose quartz, which I think involves using quartz in the manufacturing process but not actually contain the ingredient. 🌿
For the past 3 months, I’ve been using it about 1-2 times per week. KO says to use 2-3 times for optimal result. Each time I wait 5-15 mins and the mask dries down. If you don’t want it to dry to that tugging feel, try masking in the shower.
The first time I used it, it made my eyes water a bit. There’s a noticeable peppermint scent and makes the entire masking experience really cooling.
This mask is more of a physical exfoliator because of the granules, but it also has papaya enzyme to further help. The granules aren’t as fine as I’d like it to be. I prefer the smaller granules from Kate Somerville. 🌿
After washing off, my face does go a bit pink but it’s not painful or irritated. It goes away after a short while. It’s supposedly blood circulation 🤷🏻♀️. Skin feels comfy, not dry. 🌿
It really helps serums, cream and oils absorb better though, and my skin is noticeably smoother when I touch my face.
Overall, this is a 4.5 out of 5. Great for all skin types, as long as peppermint doesn’t annoy you. I love that it’s a gentle exfoliator yet it gives me soft smooth skin and helps other products absorb really well. The downside is that the granules are a bit too big for my liking, which may not be a problem for others. It’s also got a short shelf life of 6 months. 🌿
🍗 Current Facial Oil 🍗
Can you see the label of this #facialoil ? 😅 The name has rubbeb off a lot because I use this every.single.day. I never would have thought my combination-oily skin needs anymore oil, but after a friend mentioned about it and after some research, I was convinced and now I’m a happy bunny 😁 I have used 2 other oils before and now I’m down to this @trilogyproducts #trilogyno15 . This is a blend of 15 oils and it really makes a difference in moisturizing my skin, and as a result, my face is less oily. I apply 3 drops onto my palm, rub my palms together and pat my face and neck after I mist my face with facial mist. The mist helps the oil to penetrate better and quicker.
I have a little bit more left of this oil and I’m planning to get the greatly hyped Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum next. Anybody has any experience with that? Is it worth the price?

It’s been a minute since I did a beauty post but I had to share these fun fall lipsticks from @nyxcosmetics. They are matte with a touch of shimmer and not at all drying 🙌🏻 I linked them in Shopstyle, but colors in order are: Paris, Prague, Seoul, Copenhagen & Madrid #fallbeauty#nyxlipstick#shopstyle#beautyblogger
It’s been about a year since I started using cleansing balms & oils to take off my make up and honestly I cannot go back. Taking off my make up became so fast, effortless and efficient! It’s really up to you if you’ll choose an oil or a balm as they both provide more or less the same results. I do prefer the ones that emulsify when rinsed. When traveling I’d rather have a cleansing balm in my suitcase instead of an oil. I won’t risk that 🙅♀️
So here’s a quick review/comparison of these two , quite popular, cleansing balms.
Heimish All Clean Balm - probably the most popular cleansing balm at the moment. And when I tried it I saw why! It melts, takes off your makeup in seconds and emulsifies surprisingly well! It has a quite peculiar herbal scent that some sensitive noses might find off putting. It took me a few days to get used to it but then I didn’t notice it anymore. I also loved the packaging as there’s an extra lid inside and a plastic spatula to help you scoop the balm. I loved it and I would definitely buy it again!
The Body Shop Camomile cleansing butter - another favourite amongst the skincare community. I was running out of my Heimish balm and I chose the convenience of simply walking into a store and leaving with my purchase. I try to order online and group my orders but sometimes you want just one thing. So this melts and cleans quite effectively but it doesn’t emulsify that well. Even after rinsing it with water I could feel that there was some left on my skin. So if you buy it make sure you have a good second cleanser. The packaging is very basic, lucky for me I had kept the spatula from my Heimish cleanser. This Body Shop cleansing butter is definitely not my first choice but I would probably buy it again. Also, sumptuous? Did somebody hire Waitrose’s copywriter? .
Last night routine using only @pixibeautyuk. If your skin’s been playing up and you’d like to reintroduce some balance - it’s the one! Have you tried @pixibeauty skincare yet? •
First up Double Cleanse @carolinehirons collab has both me and Momma Drama Queen excited for cleansing. Quick mask to re-oxygenate the skin after all day spent in pollution-friendly (ugh) environment, followed with a touch of Retinol Tonic to fight the existing damage (if you’re new to Vit A game - it’ll rock your world!). Mist is a must & Hydrating Milky Mist is perfect to refresh and soothe, while 2in1 Rose Caviar Essence works also as a light serum to balance, hydrate and brighten. Lastly Rose Ceramide Cream reintroduces moisture back into skin plus it smells so yummy, perfect to end your evening pamper. •
Pixi skincare is now available in @marksandspencer @bootsuk & @theofficialselfridges stationary. Check for stockists on your chosen retailer’s website! •

🌱TEXTURE TUESDAY AND A STORY 🌱
This lovely liquid sunshine texture belongs to the cold pressed Apricot Oil of @aarohi.ngo 🌱First of all this post is not sponsored. The products are purchased with my own money n the views expressed are completely my own. I support this charity organization out of my own free will🌱
🌱STORY🌱 Once upon a time there was this beautiful place called Kumaon in the lap of the healing Himalayas. It was perfect. It had clean air , fertile soil n very warm hearted people . However, they had some problems. They were untouched by the industrial development. The natives eventually had to leave their homes to find work far away from home. Home was blissful but home had no livelihood. Home was forgotten by most of the modern world .
"Aarohi " means ascendance or growth : the growth of thought , creativity n harmony ... Aarohi NGO was established in 1992 with a vision to create an " equitable society ", producing pure, handmade bodycare products n culinary herbs that are procured from n made by locals n hence providing them with a source of livelihood. Nestled in the picturesque village of Satoli, their current efforts are focussed on health, education n livelihood. Women n children are at the heart of their integrated development work n their past has glorious success in forestry .
Aarohi is working to respond to the needs of the people while respecting their natural heritage n lifestyle.
🌱When I heard the name " Kumaon " I was like I have heard of this place before. " The Man-eater of Kumaon" by Rudyard Kipling anyone?
🌱I watched Nadine Baggot interview Tiffany Masterson of DE n guess which was her go to oil for facial moisturization before she discovered Marula Oil? Yes it was this golden healing Apricot Oil.
💄Current Lip Balms💄
💄 @nuxefrance #revedemiel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm is my everyday balm. I love it because it is sufficiently moisturising but it is not overly balmy, more like matte finish lip balm. The texture is thick and somehow it has slight exfoliating property when I rub it on my lips.
💄 @diormakeup #dioraddictlipsugarscrub and #dioraddictlipmaximizer are my duo for prepping my lips before putting on lipstick. These are a bit pricey for their function, but I love the ease of use of the Lip Sugar Scrub, and the slight plumping effect of the Lip Maximizer. In fact, I have gone thru countless tubes of the Lip Maximizer. Can never live without these two.
💄 @byterryofficial #baumederose in tube form which I bought during Ken’s Warehouse Sale a few months ago is the lil balm I bring together with me when I’m out. I have always wanted to try the infamous pot version but could not justify the price. This one is a good ‘sample’ for me, although it is by no means a sample since it contains 7ml of product. It has doe-foot applicatir but what I typically do is just swatch it on the back of my hand and dab it on my lips with my finger. Texture is thick and a little does go a long way. Smells heavily of rose, which I am not really a fan of, but it dissipates pretty quickly once it’s on the lips. I can see why it is a cult favourite.
