Do you need motivation on this Monday?  Did you say last week this week would be better?  Did you say you were starting on Monday?  Over the weekend did you say you'd make up for taken off? .
Most people will answer yes to at least one of those questions.  I get most of my motivation from friends,  family and myself.  However I entered the #MyTransPHORMmationStartsToday challenge in Jan and now the #1stPhormAthleteSearch because 1) I want to change and 2)@andyfrisella voice and message. .
1st Phorm is a big part of my journey, changing my life and hell I'll go as far as saying save my life.  If you want to listen to a great motivator speaker and not just fitness but life on general I recommend Andy Frisella.  Never thought I'd be one to listen to Podcast but the #mfceo project will get you motivated to take on the day,  the week,  your year.  If seeing my lack of abs and lack of bicep doesn't motivate you,  take a listen. .
I'm ok with where i'm at... because in 1 month, 1 year, even 10 years,  these photos and videos will be distant memories of the man i'll never be again!

Today I was on the fence about running and got a gentle push from the bestie that my #5k is right around the corner. .
So I went for a run,  then met my wife at the gym.  I pushed some heavier weights because I want to grow, I want to change.  I'm no powerlifter but getting stronger every week. .
Today was a great reminder that #MotivationIsKey.

Also got me thinking i'm still over 300lbs (guessing because it's been 3plus weeks since I stepped on scale)  and I ran/walked 2.47miles.  My goal in January was to start running when I got under 300lbs, here I am 300ish and i've ran a 1 mile race,  doing the ZenLabs #C25K training and run my 1st 5k on Thanksgiving. .
 I'm pushing out of my comfort zone in more ways then one to achieve the goals and life.

Getting my greens in!
1. Because I like them! 😋
2. Because it ensures I get my daily dose of veggies 🥦🥒 and fruits 🍎🍓 in a day!
3. Getting a good dose of probiotics and super foods.💪🏻
4. Using the bathroom regularly has always been one of my problems. Now I never worry about it.
5. My gut is healthier.
The list could go on and on. But I’ll just say this. I consistently drink my greens because I’ve never felt better.

Today’s workout was an absolute doozie... it kicked my arse hardcore. I was the only one for my time slot at the gym. You know what else I realized... I enjoy working out with others so much more! I still pushed myself and pushed to the limit, but that’s what this fitness community is all about. Accountability. Having others by our side to help keep us on track and push us and encourage us! Many of you don’t know that I nurse a busted elbow and a bum knee. I’ve dealt with them for years! Often I have modify exercises so as to not aggravate the injury or protect them when they are inflamed. Like today - enter fall dampness!

I used to cycle through pain meds like Motrin and Tylenol to manage the pain and discomfort. Even used prescription strength meds!When I started having liver trouble, all that had to end!

I started doing research to find something that would help but not cause issues with my organs.

I learned that the herb Cissus Quadrangularis is great for helping with bone & joint health along with relieving arthritis pain, osteoporosis, gout, body building ware and tare, menstrual cycles cramps and more! Most of which I face!

I went looking to see where I could get it! I found it in a supplement called #jointmobility from @1stphorm !

Each day I take up to 4 caps. Two with breakfast and then two in the afternoon as needed. For the most part, I have no issues! Not with my gout, arthritis, knee pain or my busted elbow, not do I have those terrible monthly cramps anymore!! It’s been wonderful!

CQ (cissus Quadrangularis) is also known as Devils Backbone, veldt grape, hadjod or pirandai and is derived from a plant in the grape family. It’s been used in traditional Indian medicine for hundreds of years too, which is cool seeing as I’m married to an Indian ❤️. In my head, it’s like I am bringing back his traditions from generations ago!

Joint Mobility is not for everyone, however it works wonderful for me! I can keep climbing stairs, go on hikes and exercise with little to no discomfort from my joints!

Nothing like starting the week off with some legs! Though I'm in a bulking phase, these are my favorite sculpting exercises to better shape the muscle. Dont swing, just keep your hips locked to the pads, and keep the contraction slow and controlled! 
P.s. Ladies, for the last two exercises, YOU DONT HAVE TO STICK YOUR BUTT OUT FOR A BETTER CONTRACTION. You just look weird when you can do it the normal way and get the same results! Someone had to say it! 😜

I used to be so self conscious about taking pics in the gym, which is dumb because if I see someone else do it I’m just like yaaaas girl I feel you 🤣 I’ve learned to face this fear because my favorite way to track progress is through pictures, plus I work damn hard in there and I’m proud of what I’ve built so ya, imma document this lift 😂 
Be proud of your body, it’s the only one you’ll ever have so show yourself some love, move & nourish it❤️ .

Black on black on slate black. Still that 8th grade punk. I’ve always been addicted to wearing black. Band T-shirts and hats use to be the only thing in my closet. My thought as I was getting ready to go to the gym is that when people make changes in their lives sometimes friends and family are shocked and even sometimes have a hard time completely supporting you. Don’t get discouraged and don’t let them influence your determination in becoming the best version of yourself. Do it for yourself and the true friends will be there with you every step of the way.

As time goes on...as life goes on don’t lose touch of who you truly are. Don’t look back and say “I miss that version of myself.” It’s ok to grow and move in different directions, but don’t completely cut ties with who you truly are for anyone. I’m a metal/rock fan through and through. That will never change and I will never hide it.

I’m someone who likes to keep things real and this is 100% real. I get really bad breakouts, I can have a few to breakouts or I can have a flare up like the picture above. The severity varies based on a wide variety of things like diet, cosmetics, skincare, stress, etc..

I know a lot of men and women struggle with acne no matter what age you are. I’m almost 30 and still get teenage acne, the cystic kind that hurts really bad. I work in Cosmetics and always have to have my “face on”. It’s embarrassing for me when I have someone looking closely at my face and all you can see are the blemishes.

I used it in the AM then moisturized with the maracuja oil once it dried then did the same at night after I washed my face for 8 days straight. As you can see in the picture on the right, it’s almost completely gone! I’ve gotten sooo many compliments on my complexion and how it’s “healthy looking and glowing”, that’s the best compliment I could ever receive!!

If you’ve been “following” me for awhile you know that pancakes are a STAPLE in my diet. Kodiak cakes were my go-to for a low-ish carb, high protein batter, but they ALWAYS turned out DRY no matter the “nursing” up.

On the presses, i explode up and come down slow and controlled. Make that mind to muscle connection with this, theres no specific tempo.

I chose to stick withe the 30s for lateral raises because it’s already a challenging weight for me, now adding the fatigue from the first 15 presses makes it even harder. Usually i stick with lightweight when it comes to these, so going heavy is a great way to switch it up!

I don’t remember the exact moment when it all changed for me. When I stopped dreading the gym and started loving it. I do remember when I realized it’d changed though. I was on vacation in Cabo with two friends and had been making time for the gym, either in the morning or sneaking away during the day. One of those days it hit me- this was my favorite thing to do! The gym was where I felt the most alive. I felt so strong, happy and like I could be myself in the gym. In that moment I realized there was no going back, I’d never be someone who dreaded working out again. I’d fallen in love with lifting (as cheesy as that may sound) and this was just the beginning of my journey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I share this incase you’re in the position I used to be in. Dreading going to the gym after a long day of work or class. Making up excuses why you don’t have time and signing up for challenge after challenge only to never finish them or not see the results you want. If that’s you- you simply haven’t met “the one” yet. The one workout style that changes it all for you. That makes you realize how strong and beautiful your body truly is. Once you do, you’ll know. It may seem cheesy but I really do believe that when you find a workout you love, the rest is easy. Keep searching! I’ve always been the underdog.
•
I joined the military 2 months before my first semester of college was supposed to start, 1 month after my 18th birthday.
•
When I failed my PT test in basic 3 times, I spent 3 hours a night training with a friend and passed the last one. After 15 retries at the range, I finally qualified.
•
When I came back home, I moved out with my wife.
•
We hit many hard times so I worked double shifts, and worked out at 12am daily.
•
After 2 years, I got depressed and wasn’t making enough so I switched jobs.
•
I started personal training with no sales experience and had no idea what I was doing.
•
After 100s of “no’s” i landed my first client 3 months later with paychecks of $200 or less. I learned from my failures by listening to podcasts and making phone calls on my free time.
•
After 6 months, I accumulated 20+ clients. I tripled my previous income and could finally afford to take my wife out on dates.
•
Now, after a year, I have 30+ clients, my own business, the car I’ve wanted, and more..BUT it isn’t enough.
•
I want to expand, influence and cause change. I want to impact lives.
•
I hate being comfortable because once you become comfortable, you die. You cease to grow. I can’t afford to become stagnant because my family won’t eat if I don’t grow.
•
I have always been the underdog. In sports, the military, business, school; you name it.
•
Because I was too small, too slow, too young, too inexperienced; my competition has always doubted me.
•
Let me tell you that being the underdog is the best thing you can be. Proving everyone wrong is a great feeling, but proving yourself right is amazing.
•
If you are feeling stuck, counted out, underestimated, frustrated; keep pushing. Pray, learn from others, seek help, and keep fighting.
•
The best thing I ever heard from someone was from my drill sergeant when he said “You’ll never succeed in my Army. You should quit now.”
•
You don’t have to be the smartest, strongest, fastest, biggest, etc.
•
You just have to be the one willing to bleed, cry, sweat and work some more to become a force to be reckoned with.
•
If it’s easy to get, I don’t want it and neither should you.

Gotta love a good shoulder pump! 💪 Today I focused on shoulders + abs, and finished it off with some cardio. Keep pushing to reach your goals and enjoy the process!

• Speed because someone told me slow is pro* and that has always stuck with me ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Mind Muscle Connection because if you aren’t engaging the muscles you’re targeting what’s the point 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is a sumo deadlift so my feet are much wider and toes pointed out but there are so many variations (which is why it’s my favorite lift!) Also, it’s important to recognize we all have room for improvement - just another reason to love training❤️

Alright. The photo on the left is when I first moved to Texas. The photo on the right is 20 minutes ago. I feel beautiful in both, but I still love being able to see the cardio and correct diet paying off! I’ve lost about 2 whole inches around my waist, which gives the illusion that both my delts and lites grew (which they did, but not significantly). Motivation for my to stay on the grind 🤙🏻👊🏻

Now here I am going on 2 hours sleep and about to work some legs at the gym... No I'm going to say #optigreens50 will directly help you at the gym but I will say that it has been a crucial part in my overall heath 🚫 No bloat
