blonder for winter ;) there’s nothing more satisfying to me then transitioning a dark ombré into a soft balayage 😬
this process took 4 hours TOTAL. pictures and all! I started by cutting a good bit of hair off then starting at the crown I foiled with 20vol stopping where the blonde starts. Worked my way down to the nape then foiled around her hair line and off of the part. (sun dial technique) My very last section I switched to 30 vol. Processed for 40 minutes and rinsed. At the bowl I applied 30 vol to her ends to lighten them slightly and pull out old color/build up. Shadow root 6NB/7N/6GI and the ends are 9P/9V/9G.

I refreshed my clients hair color using @redken shades eq to match her @bellamihair hair extensions (her balayage is 10 months old). ✨

Bright blondes! How do we maintain the bright/beautiful tones, and keep brassy unwanted tones at bay? 💜 PURPLE SHAMPOOooOoOoOooO 💜. Purple will neutralize unwanted 💛yellow 💛 tones in your hair that come from heat styling, the sun, hard water, etc.
1️⃣ It can “brighten” your blonde but it won’t “lighten” your hair. There’s a difference.
2️⃣ highly pigmented shampoos can grab quickly on porous ends! Be mindful! Sometimes I precondition my hair to avoid colour grabbing in one area more than another. And use gloves to avoid “purple hand syndrome”.
3️⃣ TOO MUCH purple shampoo is not good. You should not replace your regular shampoo and conditioner with colour balancing shampoos. And you should not use more than 1-2 times a week. You can create shampoo build up making it look darker and cause dryness.
4️⃣ Purple Shampoo is designed for hair that is lightened, platinum, grey, silver, ash, or natural blonde. Anything deeper, that reflects even deeper warmth like 🧡 orange 🧡 requires either a blue-based shampoo or a toner refresh! 💕
(No this can’t always be used in place with a toner, so don’t try to negotiate with your colourist.)
Evening Quickie ✨Grab your favorite highlighting face powder 😱✨ YES I said FACE powder, no developer here! 🦄 I’ve been having a blast playing around with this technique 💗 Would you try this for a pop of fun around the holidays?
TIP: Bleaching the knots on your lace closure or frontal means that you are removing pigment from the knots that keep each individual hair secured to the lace. By bleaching the knots you give your lace a more seamless and natural look that resembles a real scalp✨
Thought I’d give my dark hair a pop of color! Found some old red brown clip in extensions that did the trick. Cut them down to make 4 individual strips 2 for each side of my face. I razor cut them to match my hair. Then curled everything together for a natural looking blend. Love having the ability to add color to my hair when I’m in the mood for it! .

effortless everyday curls 👩🏻🦱 i’m most definitely someone who focuses more on my makeup than my hair, especially because i find mine to be pretty flat and fine in texture. when I do have hair styled however, i always get asked how i get my everyday loose curls, especially when my hair is at its short/medium length. the secret is using a straightener for a more tousled look, and doing this on clean hair so that the style is more voluminous and stays looking fresh until your next wash!
through some trial-and-error and learning from my hairstylist dad 💇🏻♂️, here are some of my key tips:
1. pat your hair dry and finger comb it after it’s washed - the follicles and shafts are very sensitive during and post-wash, so be as delicate as you can to prevent damage!
2. let your hair air-dry so that there’s more texture to it, and you also avoid additional heat damage!
3. use volumizing and heat-protecting products so that they can work their magic and there’s less stress on your hair from the heat
4. these will also create more texture in your hair and in turn, will help the style last longer! - when spraying your hair to lock in the style, make sure to use a flexible hold hairspray so that the curls can fall to look and feel more natural. also, you can flip your hair upside down and tousle it during/after you’ve sprayed it to add extra ooumph to it!
