There is a permanence to writing unlike the spoken word which can be someday forgotten...as a child I set my mind on being a writer. As a teenager and young adult I, submitted manuscripts. My desire was not to become rich and famous but to achieve immortality in a way. My SASEs returned one by one with #thankyounothankyou - now the world has changed and I suppose I just wrote this and it (unfortunately) can live on. Hope it was not my #15minutes :).
